About The Book
There goes that nap! That’s how I felt when I woke up from a dream one Sunday afternoon that made absolutely no sense. I dreamed my brother and I were fishing in Trace creek, which runs through Humphreys County in Tennessee. He and I often fish this creek as did my dad and I when I was younger. There are other creeks in the county that we fish also but, for the most part, Trace creek is our favorite. It runs through the city of Waverly which is where I was born and grew up. I spent every summer as a boy either swimming or fishing or frog gigging or all three in this creek. Several memories are attached to this creek. The dream, however, made no sense.
In my dream, I was casting my line over and over and just about every possible scenario that could happen when fishing happened in semi-fast forward. The fish swam by the bait, then one looked at the bait but wouldn’t bite and I missed one trying to set the hook. Then I finally hooked one only to lose it trying to reel it in. I caught one that I threw back because it was too small. And finally, I caught one that was a good fish in my eyes that I kept. That was a stupid dream
I told my wife. I never dream about fishing, hadn’t before that dream and haven’t since. I got up from a nap that I thought was ruined only to go about my usual Sunday afternoon business of relaxing around the house. I really try to make my Sundays a Sabbath day doing things that I enjoy and trying to rest as much as possible. Later that night when my wife and
