Image32543.JPGThis is a story about a little boy by the name of David. David lives in a city on a small island named J.A. He is a very bright young man although some people may tell you otherwise. You see David has one problem. This is that he likes to daydream, and I mean a lot. His daydreaming, however, is not like other people. David’s imagination runs wild with creativity. Everyone also knows about David’s fantastic stories. They are about either about amazing people, things, or about places he has only seen in books and magazines. David and his parents live in the largest of four cities on the island of J.A. This city sits at the edge of a huge forest.
Like any small island, there are many stories as well as folklore and rumors. One popular tale is about a hermit that lives deep in the forest. Rumor has it that those who venture too far into the forest never return. Some say, that there is a witch that likes to take little children who wander too deep into the forest. Neither one has ever been proved. It seems not too many people are willing to test this rumor.
One very hot day while David and some of his friends were walking home from school, John the school bully came up to them.
You guys either pay me five bucks, or I send you home to mommy with a black eye!
Everyone, including David darted away from John because he was really big and mean. All of David’s friends ran every which way and David, in his panic, headed straight into the forest. He ran for what seemed like forever,
