These three young people went through trials, tribulations and now triumphs. All because they recognized a higher being. They had the love, bond and strength of family unity. And by the Grace of God, they never gave up. They each can testify to the outcome of their own situation. To God be the Glory.

First of all, my grandmother, VJ Washington, is a God-fearing woman. She is a minister and loves to reach out to children. Her heart is for the meek and lowly. She would give her last dime to anyone, especially a child. VJ Washington is a writer. She has written three books, So Others Will Know, You Are Never Alone, published through AuthorHouse, 2009. Her second book is They Rose Above It All (AuthorHouse, 2011), and now Ty, Through Grandma’s Eyes, published by Trafford, 2013. Grandma is also a playwright and a producer. She produced the play They Rose Above It All, rewrote and produced the sequel, and has also written and is producing another play, The Surrogate. VJ is one of fifteen children, two of whom were mentioned in my story. VJ, my grandma, is married to my granddad, Arthur; and is the mother of three, Arthur, Jr., Erica, and my mom, Tracy. VJ also has another granddaughter, Desiree. She is grandma’s oldest grandchild, and my baby sister Nevaeh. One day, she hopes to produce a play referencing me in hopes of reaching out to those parents with children suffering with ADHD and ODD.
