CHAPTER ONE CAN OBJECTS BECOME POSSESSED
––––––––
Have you ever been startled by an eerie noise in the dead of night? Could have sworn you seen something in the corner of your eye move? Do you sometimes wonder why it feels like there’s someone or something in the room? You may be in tango with dark spirits. Evil was never hard to come by, but dismissing it may be a challenge. Though evil is prevalent in today’s time, is there a cap on its capabilities? Is it even possible for houses or objects to be possessed? If so, will you be a victim or witness? Read on to find out.
Possession is defined as the act of taking control or charge over something. Demonic possession is the same, but with different ends. When an object or house has been caught by the malicious grip of a demon or demonic spirit, its end goal is to inflict mental or physical pain on the witness and maybe even other residents. In most cases, the spirit will begin by making its presence known to you. It may come in the form of a sharp and sudden hiss traced along your neck and spine. Or the pitter-patter of ghostly feet zipping down the stairwell. Or worse, it may welcome itself by infecting your mind with disturbing imagery. In other words, a nightmare. You might also encounter questionable odors, sights, and many other things. This stage, the beginning stage, is known as the haunting. Luckily, your home or belongings are not possessed yet, but be fearful that the act is both inevitable and near.
In order to succeed in combat with this evil spirit, you must understand that it feeds off of your energy. Don’t inform others if they’re more on the dramatic side, as this will only entertain and arouse the evil being’s temptation. The more you retaliate, the more heightened the attack will be. Accept the spirit as fact and let it be known that such activity will not hinder you from living and enjoying your everyday life. Don’t give it what it wants, which is fear. If this spirit has taken the place of a doll or other inanimate object, rushing away from any contact with it will also feed into its appetite for fear.
In order to manifest negative energy, the spirit will begin to construct or inflict a pattern of unrest amongst you and your surroundings. For example, you might find that certain objects in your home have been destroyed or misplaced in weird ways. At this point, the spirit is now interested in possession more than haunting. As far as the home being possessed, you will begin to see your surroundings change right in front of you. You may feel misplaced in certain sections of your home that the spirit has already infected itself with. One common symptom is the feeling of someone's body so close to you, you can feel their pulse through the center of your back, or their breath on the hairs of your neck. Be prepared for such things.
A spirit can even possess the smallest of things like pencils or articles of clothing. Mirrors, paintings, and lights can also be possessed. The spirit will take control over anything as long as it feels like it will get your attention. This is true, but there are also things that can attract an evil spirit to you. When a mirror is possessed, you will begin to notice your reflection shift into an unrecognizable figure or even the face of a deceased person that once lived in or had influence in the area you're in. You can sense the spirit's hunger for your attention in the wild flickering of a light, the deathly colors of decaying paint on a painting, the menacing stare in a doll or teddy bear's eyes, etc. You might also see symbols of evil like the head of a goat or groups of numbers that symbolize a demon or a devilish being.
Because these spirits or demons operate off of negativity, the fastest way to attract them is to develop an aura of negativity. Not just anger or sadness, but intentional hate or deceit. Some say that participation in the occult will also attract them. Black magic as well. Using ouija boards, casting dark spells or hexes and curses will definitely attract dark spirits. Or simply engaging in activities that persuade a sense of violence or disruption. It almost acts as a karmic energy. If you believe that you have been cursed and will have twenty years of bad luck, you will. Flowers will wilt at your feet, the sun won't shine on you, and everything that could go wrong will. If you believe that you have the proper amount of knowledge and resources to fight off the evil that haunts you, this positive energy will most likely defeat the threat. This is why most witches or practitioners of witchcraft are confident when they feel they are being approached with a threat from the spirit world. They use tools like crystals and brooms to deflect the unadmirable energy that surrounds them.
Evil spirits do dwell in this day and time. While they do have the ability to take possession of houses, objects, and even people, it can be reversed and dealt with. Take heed. In most instances, victims do not survive and become trapped in the cycle of possession. The object or house that embodies the evil spirit will always find a way back to you no matter what you do. This is if you do not handle it properly, of course. It can be very easy to slip into the spirit's temptation. If in doubt, consult a psychic or witch to assist you in overcoming this issue. Do not rely on guesswork or myths that may actually misguide you and worsen the situation. Try not to be caught in certain places alone and if you are, keep the possessed item or items out of your presence. If you or your friends are known to tamper with things like this, it is only a matter of time before you are spinning in evil's grin.
CHAPTER TWO ROBERT THE DOLL

––––––––
Among the many ghost stories emerging from Florida, none has been quite as popular and documented as the story of Robert. His features now weathered, Robert is a large doll which sits in a display case in a Key West museum. While the theories of how this doll truly came to be are often argued, everyone who visits this creepy doll can agree that there's something spectacular about this haunted artifact—just don't forget to ask permission from him before you take a picture of this supernatural phenomena.
Robert the Doll
The Fort East Martello Museum, which has owned Robert since the mid-'90s, has spent the most time researching this mysterious doll out of anyone. Robert has been traced back to being made at around the turn of the century by the Steiff Company in Germany. Due to his large size, standing an impressive 40 inches, and strangely painted face, a historian from Steiff had informed the museum that they theorized Robert may have been created to be some type of mannequin instead of a child's toy. Stuffed with excelsior, also known as wood wool, Robert regularly wears his white sailor suit and carries his stuffed lion as he sits on display behind glass.
Robert's History
While there are many stories to theorize the history of this haunted doll, all seem to agree that this strange doll has something to do with his original owner, a boy named Robert Gene
Otto in the early 1900s. It has been reported that there would be many strange and mischievous occurrences within the Otto home, later dubbed The Artist House. These occurrences were blamed on young Gene, who routinely informed those around him that it was, in fact, Robert who was to blame. As Gene grew, he never separated from the doll. Staff would often claim they could hear Gene conversing with the doll behind the closed door of his toy room. On more than one occasion, the staff of the house would report that when gene would speak, a much lower and unfamiliar voice would respond to the boy.
Gene's relationship with the doll would last until his death in 1974, where the doll would then fall into the possession of Myrtle Reuter. After Gene's death, incidents of Robert's mischievous behavior increased. Residents of the home reported hearing footsteps in the attic, where Gene's father often attempted to lock Robert. Many claimed to have seen the expression on Robert's face change, as though the doll was fully aware of the conversations that were going on around him. A reporter for Solares Hill, named Malcolm Ross, reported watching the doll's smile change into a look of irritation when someone in the room would insult Gene, who had died only a short time before.
