Heartfelt - Gerald L. Moe
My Little One
You were my little one. It seems like only yesterday.
Now I have to hold you in my heart because you’re so far
away.
I didn’t think I would be strong enough to open my arms
and let you go, but as your father, I knew you had to
spread your wings and let your spirit grow.
Now a family is your agenda with children that number
three, and every day I think of you, hoping you know I
love you and that you’re missed by me.
As I watch my grandchildren grow online, in pictures sent
across the miles, I relive the years of love with my little
one, and my heart is filled with smiles.
Yes, I am truly blessed with a daughter that brings pride
into my life, as she shares her special gift of love as a
mother and a wife.
The years have gone by and you are fully grown, but
remember a father’s love when your busy day is through.
If a daughter were a poem my little one, I would have
written you!
A Tiny Angel
My life changed in October of 1973. God gift
wrapped a tiny angel and sent you down to me.
A little bundle with a purple foot that didn’t want to cry.
I went from being a young man to within minutes I was a
father, who couldn’t help but cry.
You were so small as I held you, you fit into one hand.
As I looked at you through misty eyes, I couldn’t believe
a man could feel this grand!
The pleasure and pressure of fatherhood now upon me,
I prayed to God out loud,
please help me be a positive example to make my
daughter proud.
From playing pookabee, reading Dr. Seuss, I blinked
and you were the princess at the prom.
Then it was off to college to spread your wings in a life
of computers and CD rom.
Now you are a teacher married with children, a mother in
your own right,
So I know you understand my misty eyes as I relive my
memories tonight.
They say that to be a parent of a child is a privilege
could never be more true.
No worldly treasures will I ever trade for the precious
time spent loving you!

She came to us from heaven, a gift from up above,
an introduction to a granddaughter and a life of forever
love.
A little one with a sense of humor far beyond her years,
A tough little cookie on one side, and on the other, a
soft heart filled with tears.
A little girl with a vocabulary that’s amazing to most
folks,
Always keeps Papa laughing as they tease, trade wit
and jokes.
Grandma’s little buddy, they share their love of
shopping, and in their quiet times, scrapbooking in the
loft.
An early riser along with Papa, morning finds them
cuddled in his comfy chair,
Sharing their worldly wisdom in words uttered oh so
soft.
She holds a very special place in our hearts and it’s hers
as long as she wants to stay.
God has truly blessed us by putting this beautiful little
girl in our lives to help guide her along life’s way.
A girl with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, that I am sure
is there for keeps,
always thinking she is so clever and funny each year,
giving Papa a box of Easter or Christmas Peeps.
Making memories, we like to go out to eat on our
birthdays whenever we get the chance,
Kaia will bring her wit and laughter,
Papa his appetite and Sunday go to eating
pants.
Pictures With My Heart
I just called to say I love you
on your very special day.
I’m sorry I can’t be there to share in the fun because I am
so far away.
I can’t believe you’re seven already, it sets my head
awhirl.
You’re getting so big and older, to the world no longer a
little girl.
But Papa looks at his granddaughter differently, I think
your life has just begun.
No matter where you go in life or how old you
