Hippie Bob & the Chocolate Factory: A True Fairytale

About this ebook
Robert B. Hunter
After graduating Tarkio College and marrying my lovely Diana we ventured into life's maze. Not yet able to realize the power of imagination and focused thought we were able to experience poverty as measured by my current view. Settling in with the best company on earth in 1970; McDonald's Corporation provided escalating success opportunites which fueled my entreprenural urges. The fear of freedom from conventional employment started on March 14, 1986 when Riverside Chocolate Factory was born. Our new company which still propers to this day has given Diana & I a retirement that personifies all our dreams collected on our life path. This includes a beautiful lake house in Illinois, three Beach condos on a quiet & secluded beach on the Island of Cozumel and a lovely road house (bus) that provides the gift of visiting our children and grandchildren. Retirement came in 2006 and my writing career began in the fall of 2007. Hippie Bob & the Chocolate Factory is a self help book and seven children books are completed to date.

About the Author
Dedication
This book Is dedicated to my father, George M. Hunter, Jr. A father’s job is to set a mark high enough to be a challenge, offering his wisdom as his child walks through life to ensure achievement. His memory brings me joy; his spiritual guidance gives me peace of mind. Mine is a classic case of a son longing for his father. Still there, Dad…
Foreword
This is a story of a kid in a candy store.
As a child, Hippie Bob had only a dream, but now that he’s older, it’s the real deal, and twenty-five cents has been transformed into a bag of sweet treasure. Can a dream morph into a real candy store, more specifically, a Chocolate Factory?
Hippie Bob’s life story path has been filled with wonder and God-inspired events, leading him to the discovery that our thoughts manifest our destiny. Hippie Bob and the Chocolate Factory reveals life-altering incidents, along with miracles, that will evoke inspiration for change in your own life. Who would have thought? Few do…but now YOU can.
How could a single, focused thought, repeated through a continual mantra, cause him to risk all that he’d accomplished in exchange for a dream in an industry he knew nothing about? Bob started over at forty, with a brand-new baby boy and a host of family and friends offering little support. No Atta boy!
Instead, What’s wrong with Bob?
The thought, you may ask? Riverside Chocolate Factory is a successful reality that I will make happen.
A thrill ride starting with young Hippie Bob falling off a cliff proved to him that God can catch and what was a seed became a soft landing pad. What began as a fifteen-cent hamburger yielded him a twenty-year career at McDonald’s, and with ketchup in his veins,
he rose from meager beginnings. Higher education provided business acumen to allow continued success under the Golden Arches. But later, a transfusion replaced ketchup with chocolate, and enabled his childhood dream of owning a candy company to come true. Since then, he has built a million-dollar enterprise, one small bag of candy at a time.
The birth of Riverside Chocolate Factory on March 14, 1986, gives credence to what Hippie Bob refers to as imagineering: the creation of a reality, regardless of any previous experience or barriers. We all possess the God-given creative power to alter our reality and change what is into what will be.
Mind Candy
I saw something sweet in the palm of my hand
And then I began to understand.
A thought can be as simple as a single piece of candy
Or something more.
Like a Chocolate Factory where we can serve many
And offer the sweetness I enjoyed as a child For only a penny…
—Hippie Bob
Thought delivers
March 16, 1948
I knew I was not alone…I could hear a distant beating. Not a drum, but more of a throbbing, rhythmic pumping sound. It was dark, but at the same time, I was in a comfortable place. I hadn’t been here before; or had I? I seemed to be floating in water; salty, too. Oh, but it was warm and I was at peace, well-fed, and totally relaxed. Somehow I felt connected, but to what and with what? Sometimes, even in this comfortable place, I questioned my existence. Where was I? Please help me, Father!
A voice came to me, that Voice; I’d heard it before. Son, this is the day of your beginning,
the deep, kind Voice said. Go forth and surprise those who think a single voice does not count.
"But I like it here," I explained. No matter,
the Voice said. You are finished with this place.
"What does finished mean?" The Voice was powerful, parental. Every part of me was compelled to do His will. No cell in of my being could resist, and so I went…
I could hear distant voices. Some seemed familiar. There was a pressure all around me—a squeezing sensation. Someone else was in a lot of pain, and I felt it too because of our connection. Some time had passed… more pressure… then someone grabbed me by the head. It was too bright and cold where I ended up. Then, whack! That hurt, and it caused me to cry and take my first gulp of air. Happy birthday, Hippie Bob!
My first thought was to go back to the comfort and security my mother gave me, but the Voice, who I now know as my Father in Heaven, was still with me. He explained that I will return in due time, but that He will always be with me, guiding me. Whenever I need him, He told me, all I have to do is ask. I think He said pray,
though…
So, there you have it, my beginning. Try to conceptualize your beginning, even fantasize if you want. Creativity counts here, because remembering pre-birth feelings is nearly impossible. Maybe you popped out
and became a living game piece on the Monopoly board of life. Or maybe you were born, already ready to save the world. Be absolutely certain that it is a positive and happy start to your life. Then make it real—an evolution of make-believe to reality.
The subconscious mind has an insatiable hunger for thoughts. It devours all thoughts and forms you like a potter does clay. Whatever you feed it, the subconscious mind will digest and ponder, eventually taking you places you may or may not want to be. No, the subconscious mind cannot take a joke! It does not differentiate between real and imagined. All thought is real. Thought powers creation… You control the mind food,
so it is you who controls your destination. Feeling hungry? Read on, for I have prepared a banquet of mind food for you to feast on!
Genesis
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For through me your days will be many,
And years will be added to your life.
If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
If you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
Proverbs 9:10-12 (NJV)
The genesis of your life needs to be reviewed and must be as detailed as possible. Starting at the very beginning, back when you were zero,
if possible, is of paramount importance in preparing the foundation for your drive and ambition. You are a self-contained time machine. Recreating what has already been done is fun and rewarding. All that was done can be undone. Only puppets are attached to strings—your mind is string-free. To allow someone else to affect your free will is a huge mistake. Idolize, fanaticize, visualize, and use every cognitive tool available to you to create the foundation worthy of your ambition.
Mind Candy
Creation is a gift.
Free will was given by God with no fine print.
—Hippie Bob
The Evolution of a Little Boy
Into a Candyman
Once upon a time, in a not-so-far-away land called New Jersey, a little boy named Hippie Bob pondered the vastness of joy in his life.
Most folklore begins something like this, but this particular journey will be different. Walk with me and read these pages with an open mind. This is a life story path of the written word. Every life has a story, and I prefer mine to be called a fairy tale (as opposed to nightmare or death walk, themes that might adversely affect your desired outcome—certainly not something you would want to identify with!). As we travel together through these reflections on the past, it is my hope that you will be enabled to do the same. Along the way I will reveal personal miracles and thoughts that can and will change your life. My intention is to prepare you to be all that you wish to be.
The primary message is that I believe in the power of you. I want to warm your heart, touch your soul, and push you over the edge of your current reality and into your new world. I trust that you will be empowered by my experience, and in the process I will become a companion on your own life story path. The overview of my life is simply a way for you to know my own path, birth to sixty. More important are the messages contained within the story that will shake you like a personal earthquake. If I fail to move you, please let me know.
We already know one another—we are connected through the Father. Early on, I was in awe of the Creation, which is ours to enjoy, compliments of our Heavenly Father, Himself!
Are you sitting down? I have an announcement that my surprise you. You are a creator: The person that you are, complete with all the trimmings you have created. Thought powers creation. Become an expert in your life.
We are all subject to the influences of the many people who have shaped us into what we are today. The formative years of most people are highly regulated by others. DNA aside, pray that you have a good team of advisors that make up your family, friends, and educators. Their efforts combine to tweak you into what you are becoming, so take the time to analyze what needs to be fixed, adjusted, or eliminated! Beware of the false teachings from those people who would have you become what they think you are or could be. They are disguised as parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and preachers. If you were a piece of clay, who would shape you? Who would be your potter? Would this potter’s work result in a work of art or a misshapen mistake?
It is a giant leap to believe in yourself; after all, you have to overcome all the negative influences others have placed upon you. These chains of influence will shape you into someone these other people would have you become. Do not become a We-Bot, a person who loses the I am
to the we are
as a result of social interaction. When you try to become something different than the person you truly are, expect resistance. The restrictions placed on you by others could forever shackle you to mediocrity: a human robot programmed to do the will of others. Review your support staff. Accept God’s gift of free will and become what is your dream. Social forces can hold you captive for a lifetime. Your thoughts and focus determine your outcome and close human connections influence thought.
Who is in charge of your life? Be absolutely certain that you are becoming what you want to be by evolving, creating, and progressing; never mired in boredom. Repel those attacks with love and deep appreciation, and follow your own path. Review your childhood. Become an expert in your life.

Thought is the fastest mode of transformation.
—Hippie Bob
The early years for all children are filled with wonder and most are happy. Imagination runs rampant in a child’s life. What is actually real does not matter. Why can’t joy be? Only adults scoff at joyful pretense. As a matter of fact, isn’t that a child’s greatest asset: finding joy in the absence of it? No child is poor when he can create the wealth of joy in his own mind.
Mind Candy
Joy is self-generated.
Depending on others for joy will lead to
A life full of sorrow and disappointment.
—Hippie Bob
It takes years of negative forces to bring humans to the brink of misery, but it can be done. Millions can testify to this. It is said that misery loves company, but what misery really loves is to hold you hostage from experiencing joy. The distance between misery and joy is short, and a single thought travels at lightning speed. So then, if misery lingers in your life, what do you suppose is the problem? The simple truth is that it is a thinking problem. Self-inflicted cruelty…mind games of the unfortunate. This is the result of any negative thought or reaction that impairs your vision for improvement. When you focus your thoughts on what you dislike about your life, it will remain stagnant. Close your eyes so that you can clearly see what needs to be. Imagine that your desire has been fulfilled.
And so, the Story Begins
I was born in a small New Jersey town called Pompton Lakes, only about a one hour drive to New York City which qualifies it as a Jersey suburb of the Big Apple. An immigration boat delivered both Mom’s and Dad’s grandparents, giving them second-generation American status. Although poor, they cherished the US soil that was stuck to the soles of their shoes. George McClay Hunter, Jr., married Josephine May Grassia and, as you know, love produces offspring and, bingo, Bobby was born. The good part of my mixed breed
status is that Dad’s Scottish roots gave me frugality and mom’s Italian heritage gave me great food. Saving money and eating great food; I still savor both.
Dad was a hard-working loom mechanic fixing machines that wove fabric in a deafening work environment. Mom stayed home with us kids in a ‘50s sitcom kind of way. Every day, she supplied the behavior report card
to Dad upon arrival from work. Early release for good behavior.
I grew up in a neighborhood built after the
