God Spoke, I Wrote
()
About this ebook
This had become my calling, this is what God wanted me to do, and as it became more and more widespread, my involvement with Jesus became more and more, the words were coming so fast, the insight I was seeing, only God knew what was happening to me. I would be nothing, nor would there be any written poetry without God, for when I sit down to write, I say a prayer to God, saying, God, please give me the words to write, and He always would. That is why I call my book of poetry, GOD SPOKE/I WROTE.
Marlene Scott
I call my book, Words in Motion for many reasons..These words/set in poem are written about everything from birth, to death, marriage, anniversaries, religion, personal, Ordinations, and yes, even political. They were written for friends, family, loved ones, and many at the request of strangers…Many said they found consolation, peace, and comfort in these poems.. I thank God for giving me these words…I promised God my Devotion and He gave me the words to write, to Put into Motion. I feel that God has given to me a “Gift”, if you will, to be able to express in words, the pain/happiness/ and sadness of others, even to giving words to them from a loved one who has passed on I have even been given words of things regarding freedom of speech or the right to worship in our own way, about Prayer and War. Yes, someone once said that The Pen is Mightier than the Sword, and I truly believe that to be very true, especially when God is guiding every stroke of the pen, so, I pray that you can identify with, or find comfort in any of these poems that I have written with much Love and Devotion I give to you my last book... WORDS IN MOTION From Birth, to Death, and Life in Between

Dedicated to:
This book is dedicated to and in memory of my Mother,
Stella Elois Wheeler Mallicoat and my son, Mark Elliot Scott
I thank all my family, my brothers, sisters, my children, Mike, Steven, and Mellisa, and my husband Royce for standing beside me through my uncertain times and encouraging me to keep writing and then to put it in book form where others could read them also.
I want to thank my Pastor and my Church, Lakeside Outreach Ministries for all the encouragement and faith that they too had in me. I found my faith there and it is through this church that so many of my poems have come with the help of God.
So many I want to thank, I cannot name them all, but, know in my heart and with God, we remember you all.
Mostly, I thank God for all He has done and helped me to become and if dedicating this book to Him I could do, {He already knows what they are}, but, to show God how much He means to me, it is my Life that I dedicate to Him.
God Bless each and every one.

I Did it Your Way
It seems like every morning when I awake
God says, "now, pen and paper I want you to take
The words that I am going to give to you,
You must write them down, then I will show you what to do.
For you may meet someone today
See or hear something, someone may do or say
It may even be a very distraught someone
Who has just lost a child or some loved one
Or, you may meet someone who is gravely ill
And your words to them, through me, peace, I will instill,
They are reaching out for a comforting word or two
Words of comfort, needed today to see them through.
Some may not understand my way,
For them, you will also need to pray.
Some may even call it nonsense or absurd
But, I tell you, you must not deny my given word.
I know you will even ask, "but God, why me?
Why have you chosen me to be the one,
To do these works, things you say must be done.
I now lay awake all hours of the night
To words, visitors, thoughts and surrounding light
I even hear the crying heart of someone’s pain
Crying out, please God, stop the rain.
Then comes the words that you have given to me
To tell them that blessings are coming, if they will only believe.
He knows that your pain and suffering seems like a lot
But God says, "remember my Son’s suffering, lest you forgot.
God, these words you have given to me to comfort those
I will obey and give to the ones that you have chose.
I pray I too will stand before you one day,
To say, "God, I obeyed, and I DID IT YOUR WAY.

Homecoming
WE HAVE A WONDERFUL PASTOR, PASTOR KENNY GRIFFIN, WHO, TEN YEARS AGO SAID YES TO GOD’S CALLING AND THE YEARS HAVE MADE HIM STRONGER IN HIS FAITH AND THE PREACHING OF GOD’S WORD . . I BELIEVE HE HAS BECOME A HOUSEHOLD WORD, RECOGNIZED AND WELCOMED BY ALL, WHEREVER HE GOES . . . HE PREACHES ONLY THE WORD OF GOD, AND RELIES ON GOD TO SHOW HIM THE WORD . . . AND EVER BY HIS SIDE GIVING HIM THAT STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT IS HIS WIFE, BONITA, HIS MOTHER ANGIE AND HIS FATHER J.C . . . . SO PROUD OF WHAT HE IS DOING IN GOD’S NAME AND BRINGING THE WORD OF GOD TO ALL WHO WILL LISTEN . . .
IT WAS FROM POLLY’S LANDING TO WHERE WE ARE NOW, THAT PASTOR KENNY CONTINUED HIS PREACHINGS IN A TEMPORARY ENCLOSURE {TENT}
THAT WAS BLESSED WITH HEALINGS, BAPTISMS, WEDDINGS, AND REVIVALS, MANY, MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES . . . IT IS NOW OUR FELLOWSHIP HALL WHERE OUR GATHERINGS WILL CONTINUE . . . WE WORSHIPED HERE AND BEGAN TALKING OF THE BUILDING OF OUR NEW CHURCH . . . . THANKS TO BRO. J.C., HE TOOK THIS VISION OF A NEW CHURCH FROM JUST BEING TALK, TO MAKING IT BECOME A REALITY . . . HE BEGAN THE WORK OF BUILDING THIS CHURCH, AND OTHERS, UPON SEEING HIS DEDICATION AND DETERMINATION, JOINED IN TO COMPLETE OUR NEW CHURCH . . . MANY HAVE PUT HOURS, TIME, MONIES, DONATIONS, HARD WORK AND LOTS OF LOVE INTO THE BUILDING AND COMPLETION OF OUR CHURCH . . . UNFORTUNATELY, SOME OF THOSE WHO WORKED AND BELIEVED IN THE FUTURE OF OUR CHURCH PASSED AWAY BEFORE IT WAS COMPLETED . . . MINISTER WINNIE MAE SPRINGS, FAYE KENNEDY, LEE AND GERLENE HILEMAN, FRANK HUFFMAN, SHIRLEY McLEOD, Q.L. EVANS, BUT, AS WE STAND HERE TODAY, I FEEL THAT THEY TOO HAVE JOINED US IN THE TEN YEAR, HOME CELEBRATION IN OUR NEW CHURCH
GOD HAS MANY PLANS FOR THIS CHURCH AND HE IS SELECTIVLY GIVING THE SEEDS TO HIS CHOSEN TO BE PLANTED . . . . OUR CHURCH MAY TAKE SOME CRITISIUM, BUT, EVEN JESUS WAS CRITIZED, THIS WILL ONLY MAKE US STRONGER . . . . FOR, THIS IS TRULY A CHURCH THAT GOD SAYS WILL BE KNOWN AS THE CHURCH THAT WELCOMES ALL, PREACHES THE WORD OF GOD FROM THE BIBLE AND THE HEART, NOT FROM SCRIPT, AND NOT BEHOLDING TO, NOR JUDGING ANY MAN, FOR WE ARE ALL JUDGED BY GOD
ON BEHALF OF PASTOR KENNY, BRO. JACK, BRO. J.C., EVERYONEWHO HAS WORKED SO HARD AND HAS REMAINED FAITHFUL TO, AND FOLLOWED OUR CHURCH THROUGH ALL IT’S STRUGGLES, TRIUMPHS, TEARS, AND LAUGHTER . . . THANK YOU
Pastor Kenny
Pastor Kenny, I chose not to write a poem to you
But, to just write or say a word or two,
About a man and a church, and how God led me to where
I found people who really did care.
Pastor Kenny, you started out seven years ago
Preaching in a church that you dreamed would grow
You were young and eager to preach God’s word,
Becoming available wherever you could be seen and heard.
You found the road rocky and very long,
Sometimes even asking yourself, was I wrong
?
Criticism you took, although sometimes not well,
But, you always got up, when at times you fell.
As the days spreading God’s word became longer,
Your faith in God also became much stronger.
You put your own life and family on hold
While doing God’s work, taking on others load.
But, when you became one of God’s chosen few
God never said that it would be easy for you,
You would encounter many challenges and much strife,
But, it would only be here, in your mortal life.
You will be rewarded with a new home on high
Where God will give you immortal life, never to die.
You will have eternal peace and serenity there
All because you showed God that you truly did care.
You say that 2008 will be a new beginning
But, in God’s eyes, He says there was never an ending.
This seed was planted seven years ago
Now, you must feed it daily for it to grow.
I know that in my lifetime I will not see
The Outreaching of this church that God says it will be,
But, I know that in my heart, and I see it so vividly
That when God comes, the church still standing will be

WRITTEN FOR OUR {7}YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Our Class
Sharing of Memories Remembered
!WOW! Just look at all the classes gathered here
All met with laughter, hugs, emotions and some tears,
For on this special night we have gathered to find
Our class of friends, we call special, and one of a kind,
For you have shown that you are not a class of friendships past,
But, indeed, a class of friendships that truly did last.
Yes, years have passed and that means, so I am told,
That over time, we have aged and gotten old,
Well, they called me a senior a long time ago
And I am still being called a Senior, so I guess I just age slow.
No, time did not stand still, we all continued to grow
Becoming a part of another life, we all soon came to know,
For graduating meant into adulthood we had all grown
Beginning a new phase of our lives, careers and families of our own.
Many of us moved away, pursuing our new careers
But, we remained in touch throughout these many years.
Many of our classmates have now passed, but still remain a part
Of all of us, in our memory, as well as in our heart.
Yes, we have all come a long, long way
Since we graduated that memorable day.
For each of us, there are special memories that still run deep,
Wonderful memories that we have all vowed to keep,
And though we moved on, one thing we never outgrew
Was remembering our times and friends at CAMDEN HIGH SCHOOL.
Now, as we leave each other here tonight, let us say a Prayer
Asking God to keep us all safe and in His eternal care,
And give thanks to God for all that He has given to each of us,
Families, friends, memories, things that truly mean so much.
God Bless, good health, and take care
Till we meet again next year with more memories to share.

Our Revival
From faith to blood and to the Cross
This is where you go, if you are lost,
Asking for forgiveness, how to love each other,
And recognizing each, as God says, sisters and brothers.
This Revival did open my eyes, yes indeed,
But also the eyes of all to see,
For each did stand and clearly did speak
Of all their morals, both strong and weak.
