    Preface

After the death of my husband, Brad, I’ve witnessed strange occurrences in my home. Apparitions, orbs, and spirits come and go, and they have persuaded me to write this book to convey to everyone that there is life after death and that love continues even after physical death.

This book was written for all those who have an interest in the paranormal and seek to learn what happens to the soul after death. I believe there is a vast audience of millions of people interested in this subject. I have documented evidence of the soul coming back, and the dead do visit their loved ones.

    10 years old

In 1960 at the age of 10, I was a little girl, living in New York City. My father worked as a stationary engineer in the boiler room of the Bronx Lebanon Hospital. He worked the night shift, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., so he would be able to be home to take care of me during the day while my mother worked as a file clerk at a company called Joe Lowe Corporation, which made ice pops. It was located in New York but eventually moved to New Jersey. New York was a very vibrant city when I was growing up. I had many friends at school and excellent grades. The school was St. Catherine of Genoa, taught by Our Lady of Mercy nuns.

One day at school, I was outside talking to my girlfriends, and the boys were playing baseball. I got hit by a ball right in the face. My nose started to bleed, and a nun thought my eye was bleeding. She immediately took me inside and washed my face to see if I was all right. The principal, Sister Una, called my father to let him know what happened and that I was going home. Instead, I went to my girlfriend’s house, where her mother helped me clean my clothes because they were covered with blood. I called my father from her house; he was worried about me and told me to come right home immediately. When my mother arrived home from work, she called my friend’s mother and thanked her for helping me.

My parents were quite strict, and I was to always conduct myself in a proper way in my home. I attended Catholic schools and did very well. After grammar school, I attended St. Catherine’s Academy high school. Graduation was at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. This is a beautiful church! To celebrate my graduation, we all went to Mama Leone’s in downtown New York. The restaurant gave everyone enormous plates of food and, of course, we took half of the food home.

A near-drowning incident took place in August 1960. I was invited to go to a private pool uptown with a bunch of kids. I returned bottles to a local grocery store to get enough money to go, as you had to pay to get into the pool area. One boy, who was about sixteen years old, liked me and told me that if I went to the pool he would watch out for me. I told him I could not swim, and he said, That’s okay. I will put you on my shoulders, and you don’t have to go into the water. I said, Okay, and decided to go with him; my father said it would be fine. We went on the bus to the pool. I put my bathing suit on in the locker room. When I came out, the boy put me on his shoulders and walked around in the pool. All of a sudden, someone pushed him from behind, and I fell to the bottom of the pool. I got up, turned around, and I saw a hand coming down in the water, gesturing for me to take it. I grasp this hand and the hand pulled me up with such force that the water gushed into my face. I closed my eyes and trusted this hand to help me. When the pulling stopped, I found myself at the edge of the pool, safe. I pulled myself up and saw that kid who had brought me to the pool laughing with his friends. I asked him, Were you the one who pulled me up? He said, No. We were all looking for you. Where did you go? I immediately went home and waited for my mother to arrive. I told her the entire story, and she told my father when he got up for work. The next day, my father went looking for this kid and found him hanging around one of the apartment buildings. My father was very angry and told him, "Did you try to drown
