About this ebook

Oddities, A One Act Resolution is a play about one's ache and loneliness when secluded by the wraith of suicidal ideation. The mind reacts as Nature has gifted us to: fight or flight. In fight does the Founder wrestle with reality splintered into various archetypes that evolve from a maelstrom of confusion. He becomes psychotic. He becomes delusional. He jumps into the bottle, the flask, the flagon for comfort, though delirium and ache come parading in the form of Death and the Bearer of Burdens.

But still he clings onto reality as tightly as he can, as his Archetypes of Donut, Cavalier, Somber, Riot, Passive, and Ponder gather in the mist of the Mind, called Yonder Town. Thru allegories and allusions these Archetypes clash and comfort each other as they aim to break the suicidal hold that Death and desperation wrap around the throat of the Founder, who is not able to appreciate the honey river of the Stream, from where the six originate, the Stream that floats from the Garden, a Sanctum for the Founder.

There is a fusion of Eastern and Western thought as a peculiar mythology develops.

    Introduction

If sentiments of dissolving and debilitating melancholia reveal a derelict and dunce mortal, this abandoned and slave is so consumed and crazed by paralyzed senses and seemingly improper social charge, that she screams as she becomes a viscous and grimy detachment from reason and rhyme and reality. She peals and pales from the bounds and breaking of the world and wisdom.

There is an eccentric honor yet horror in her bizarre grasping of a striking, and lightning dogma that glorifies the loneliness of solipsistic contemplation, which slowly surfaces then spurts from the cracked leaking of her mud mephitic mindless mind. A soul now hollow. For the love ones of this morbid, yet often merry individual, is primed an agonizing trial of love with understanding and judgment suspended, a claim that summons death.

It is empathy then sympathy for this lamenting individual that kin will meter out the storm of a malady or strain of an unnatural melody and whimpering murmurs or rumors of mangling and mutilation. Such are the war clangs of isolation. Folk must be passive, patient and wait to prevent, penalize, and proscribe the premature fall from the precipice to the funeral.

Many are helpless and sleepless as they watch the self-molestation of this silent, yet shouting, sequestered, yet squired, sunny, yet sordid, tranquil, yet tormented, worthy, yet wretched, vicious, yet virtuous, who loses hope in faith, patience, serenity, courage, wisdom…even God, the calm swaying refuge of Lord Nataraja, in His cosmic dance of creation, preservation, and destruction, at the center of the universe, Chidambaram; Time I am, Destroyer of worlds. The withdrawn Soul of mankind, of Humanity is lost to the tempest and death of this world.

The fidelity, kindred spirits and clan, between the dominions of Ignoble Depression and Florid Mania is disquieting. An ascent to the peak of crazed and craved unrestraint, with wet passions, illusions so illustrious, only to face the rude drop into the bowels of exhaustion, with lethargy as the ever consuming contemplation and sorrow, is revolting, obscene.

Perched upon the summit of this world, is the hallucination capital, where immortality stands, the ever intensive flare and unyielding mark of dominion and dogma and rigidity, uncompromising. With shooting grandiosity comes the existence and expression of words and thoughts, that are considered identical,
