()
About this ebook
This book is a compilation of poems that this author had written since 2001. He had written on many subjects, such as inspirational verses, love and marriage, poems to our men and women serving in the military, past and present. With the world in chaos and liberalism on the upsurge, this author had expanded his writes on many controversial subjects.
This author being retired and having retired from the New York State Parks Commission was a lover of nature. He wrote about the beauty of the earth and his love for gardening.
Holidays had always been special family times and this author wrote about each holiday as he remembered growing up as a child and the importance of each whether fun holidays or spiritual Holy Days.
This author had always liked to write puns or play around with words and phrases. Many poems of roses are red and violets are blue have come into play with his challenges in writing. This author had written many poems for the Starlite Caf Internet and many times had taken the Ten Word Challenges that had been offered to him.
This author enjoyed writing about his pet beagle, his neighbors and special people that had touched his life. He also enjoyed writing poems of laughter and ones that would interest children. This is a book that this author hoped would reach the hearts and minds of people of all ages.
Frank A Pellegrino
Frank A. Pellegrino was born June 10, 1922 in Niagara Falls, New York. His parents were born in Italy and came to the United States in the early 1900’s. He attended the St. Joseph Elementary School in Niagara Falls. In the 5th Grade, is where he learned to write poetry, a teaching that stayed with him all his life. After he left High School, he enlisted with the United States Regular Army, at age eighteen. Serving in W.W. II, he was in Iceland, France and England overseas. After 4 and half years of active duty, he returned to Niagara Falls. June 1, 1958, he married, Theresa Angellotti, from Oneonta, New York (now deceased) and they were married 33 years. He had been employed with the New York State Parks Commission for 25 years. To-date he has been retired for 20 years. After her death, he decided to make use of all his skills and hobbies. This way he could fill the void in his life. His hobbies are gardening, writing, classical music, sports and cooking. He is a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the DAV, AARP, and CSEA. Frank has received many awards from the International Library of Poetry and one Beautification Award for his flower gardens in Niagara Falls. He has numerous poems published in Books of Anthologies with the International Library of Poetry to-date. April 27, 2001, Frank married his friend from Bloomington, Indiana, Alice Ann Davidson-Gilmore and they live a quiet, retired life in Niagara Falls, New York. Frank’s goal as a writer is not only to fill the empty void that was in his life, but, life itself inspires him. God’s power and creations and all life surroundings, give him strength and hope for all his tomorrows.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
FOREWARD
The world is full of changes causing chaos, diversity and breakdowns in our government.
The greatest gift from God is life. It is up to each of us to protect this gift.
Frank A. Pellegrino, died December 3, 2006 and these are his words
Written before he died during 2004-2005
CHAPTER I
INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGES
ASK GOD
Dear God, please help us end war,
Please let us sin no more.
Please let us not neglect,
To teach our children respect.
To protect people’s religion,
To have Peace and Freedoms.
Teach us to broaden our wisdom,
To make us good Christians.
Protect from wars, our great nation,
Help us to avoid temptation.
Where help is needed, let us not be blind,
Instead be helpful, be kind.
When we can’t control ourselves any further,
Please prevent us from committing murder.
As life goes on, I will try,
Not to steal or lie before I die.
Help and show you care,
To people living in a nightmare.
Give us enough life and breath,
To pray before our death.
In You we’ll never deceive,
Because in You, we do believe.
‘God’ Welcome us at Heaven’s Gate,
Because in You, that we have Faith.
A WAKE UP CALL
Tomorrow is already here,
Proof is in our atmosphere.
We’ve been warned by weather forecasters,
Of unbelievable world disasters.
The Bible has been warning,
That mountains of disasters will be forming.
Thousands would die in floods and earthquakes,
Destroying homes, rivers and lakes.
Thousands more missing and presumed dead,
This is what the Bible a long time ago had said.
These things could happen anywhere,
It could strip the Earth bare.
These latest happenings are a wake up call,
For the rich, the poor and for us all.
Some will perish, others will survive it,
We shall feel God’s spirit.
All these are messages God had sent,
He has hopes that we will repent.
He has given us the gift of life,
He can take it away with one swipe.
It is up to you to decide,
Let your conscience be your guide.
Before we are ready to depart,
Let us first examine our hearts.
HE’LL BE HERE A SECOND TIME
In this wicked world of sinners,
There are absolutely no winners.
We sin more and more,
Swear more than ever before.
Christmas is our National Holiday,
They’re trying to take the name ‘Christ’ away.
‘God, Under God and In God We Trust’,
Keeping them in schools is a must.
Nativity scenes should be protected,
All religions should be respected.
Why are we, the silent majority,
Not challenging the minority?
It is time that all religions,
Fight for our religious freedoms.
Children will be taught to be unbelievers,
In the end, low achievers.
Jesus will be here for a second time,
We will pay for our sins and crime.
He will bless those who believe,
Forgives those sinners before he leaves.
Jesus and God are not a total mystery,
They existed long ago and is history.
Make a complete new start,
Put a ‘loving God in your heart’.
HE WILL REVERSE OUR MISTAKES
Count our sister planets, one by one,
They are given life by our life giving Sun.
We on Earth have been here since the beginning of time,
It won’t be forever, I am told by the grapevine.
We’re here for only a little while,
So we should slow down our life style.
You’ll never know what’s in store,
When we experience violence and wars.
We have experienced disaster after disaster,
Are we being punished by our Lord and Master?
We have poisoned our lakes and rivers,
Contaminated water with chemicals, affecting our livers.
Chemicals accidentally reaching the ozone,
They affect our brains and our bones.
Spray chemicals from planes over our lawns,
Covers entire cities before dawn.
We have to be concerned at what we eat,
Corn, Wheat, Flour, milk and meat.
We over do popping pills,
Cause of some of our ills.
Average person takes too many X-rays,
It shortens your living days.
The Second-Coming of Christ will come with a cure,
And He will heal and again make everything pure.
IN OR OUT
Today as I look up into the sky,
I wonder of the day that I will die.
Will Heaven accept my soul,
Even if it is black as coal.
Will Heaven be as dark as night,
Or will it be like daylight.
Will I be walking in a Garden of Flowers,
Will we be given Heavenly Powers.
There’ll be no uncertain dangers,
In the midst of beautiful Guardian Angels.
We will confront our God,
When given His special nod.
He will say, your soul is not dead,
It will live eternally instead.
You will also be told,
That you’ll never get old.
You’ll be blessed by God and the Lord,
And given your just reward.
If you want a Ticket to Heaven, one way,
Live by God’s Commandments every day.
You can avoid sinning in this great creation,
By staying away from temptation.
Its up to you to decide,
If you want to be on THE INSIDE or THE OUTSIDE.
FROM EARTH TO HEAVEN
When we are tired we lean on a fence post,
When help is needed, whom do we ask for the most?
It is, of course, a good neighbor,
But the best is our Lord and Savior.
Our Father in Heaven made all our creations,
He made man to live for multi-generations.
Whatever you have to say, He’ll listen,
Whether you are man, woman or little children.
Whenever you have the guilt of sin,
Ask for forgiveness and pray to Him.
If you ask you will receive,
But you must believe.
If we wish to do good before we die,
‘Its God’s Commandments we should live by’.
Because in
