To my mother and father, Jack and Bella Lewis whom I love very dearly and who are no longer with me.
To my two children who lived this nightmare with me.
Lastly, to all the women who are living in an abusive relationship, there is hope out there for you. This book is written as a testament to let you know that no matter how bad things get you can draw strength and gain the courage to get out and live an abuse free life.

Introduction
By
Veronica Lucas
Have you ever felt like you were living in a dream but realized that the dream was actually your reality? Well, this book is that type of reality. Shug was raised in a Christian home free from violence and given all the opportunities an only child could possibly want in life. She met and married a man who she thought would love her unconditionally, shower her with all his love and affection and give her the world. What she got in the beginning was the fairy tale, what she had in the end was the nightmare.
This book takes you through the journey of one woman’s struggle to survive a marriage that she thought was worth saving to eventually realizing that the only thing that was worth saving was the life of her children and herself. As you read this biography, think about your own life, the life of friends and family members and how situations that seem wonderful to the public can be so different behind closed doors. Nothing is ever as it seems and you will never understand what anyone is going through unless you are actually living it or walking in their shoes so to speak. In the end you will have a glimpse of what it was for Shug to live in domestic violence and how she found her way out to finally live….No More Pain.
