The Little Ho! Ho! Book: Volume 1

About this ebook
Welcome to Volume 1 of The Little Ho! Ho! Book. (Referred to in familiar circles as the T.L.H.H.B.) This is a compilation of twelve of the Fans Favorite Holiday Columns that ran in years past throughout the Midwestern United States in the weekly humor column "And...More, Later." Simple, eh?
Well...not quite that simple. For this Holiday Gift Book is much more than just your average compilation. In this its finest hour, it represents the extremely hard work of several individuals who felt strongly enough about this project to devote an enormous amount of Time, Patience, and Support to it. Its purpose is twofold: to bring attention to a devastating condition, Alzheimers, which is affecting our aging population on an ever-increasing basis, and secondly to generate a non-typical source of revenue to the local chapter responsible for increasing the publics awareness of this serious illness.
The authors and artistic contributors are receiving no monetary remuneration for their efforts. In fact, 100%...again, thats 100%...of the royalties generated by the sales of this small effort will be paid directly to the Heartland Chapter of the Alzheimers Association, the charity selected to benefit from this first edition of T.L.H.H.B. Hopefully, this is just the first of many such volumes that will continue to benefit this particular charity as well as several other worthy organizations in future years.
On behalf of everyone who contributed their energy to this endeavor...Thanks, our appreciation, and Happy Holidays.

Image300.JPGCover Art: Chosen from the work of Dea Aldrich-Banka. Dea is a 30-year resident of the Kansas City area, with 25years of experience in the local art field. She specializes in oils and watercolors and confesses to a passion for compatible elements of color, design, and texture. She has also earned several awards that mark her career’s progress. Dea is a floral designer by trade, and is married with a grown family. Born and raised in what she describes as a, small Midwestern town,
which certainly created the foundation for her strong interest in landscapes and small town themes. But, there’s also one absolute certainty; she has a unique knack of seeing the Holidays through a pair of laughing eyes.
Gift Page Illustration: Charlene Madden specializes in topics and subject matter that have an extremely loyal following in the greater Kansas City area. She was kind enough to offer for our use a watercolor print of a Park University scene entitled Mackay Hall-Winter.
Our thanks and appreciation for her kindness.
FOREWORD
Author’s Note:
On behalf of everyone who worked so long and hard to put this volume of The Little Ho! Ho! Book together, our sincere Thanks and Appreciation for purchasing this publication. Hopefully, the proceeds will find their way into the lives of people and families who can use a little extra help from time to time as they struggle with this devastating condition. At least that was, and continues to be our collective belief and intent.
The credit for the concept for this first volume of T.L.H.H.B. really must go to several individuals who worked diligently to make it a reality. Originally it came my way through one of my editors who, in turn, was relating therequests she had received from a few loyal readers of my humor column, And. ..More, Later. It seemed there were several favorites
that a growing percentage of the readership asked to have reprinted in what can only be termed a Gift Book
format. Something that could snuggle down into the toe of a Christmas stocking. Relatively inexpensive, yet a
