Reviews for Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Blue Gem

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In my opinion, this is a great graphic novel. One of the things I liked best about this book were the illustrations. The book takes place in 1889, and the illustrations seem to have an older feel to them. The colors used in the illustrations are dull, but they are still beautiful. The illustrations really set the tone for the novel. I also really like the simple language used in the book. The story was easy to understand, but still interesting. I also liked how there wasn’t very much text in the story. That makes the story more appealing, especially to someone who doesn’t want to read that much. Another thing I really like about the book was the “How did Holmes solve it?” page in the back. That page tells the reader what Holmes was thinking and how he came to his conclusions. The big idea of this book is to create a fun mystery that children can try to solve while they are reading.
