Philadelphia was a city founded by the Quakers or The Religious Society of Friends. They displaced the Lenape Indians in order to settle a town not too far from what would become New York City. Philadelphia became a trading port importing goods from the West Indies and was a very prosperous city. Because of the religious freedom, the city founded upon it attracted people of many religions including Moravians, Mennonites,
