- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I thought it was amusing at times but overall pointless.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5nice reding.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This tom thumb was born unto a poor farmer and his wife. I think this disadvantage give more merit to his rise to greatness. All of the basic obstacles are the same.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A very cute story about a gift from Merlin to a small family. The small boy goes on adventures from falling into batter, to fighting in wars.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Watson, Richard Jesse Watson. Tom Thumb.San Diego: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Publishers, 1989. The illustrations are realistic and very well done. The text is long and may discourage young readers. The main character Tom Thumb is swallowed by a giant and a fish but escapes. He shows that even though he is small he is brave. He helps the King Arthur stop the giant from attacking. A very enchanting story that will engage readers. Age Group: 7-10 years old.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Richard Jesse Watson has retold this Brothers Grimm classic tale of a boy who is the size of his father's thumb. He unintentionally gets into dangerous situations just because of his small size. In his quest to be helpful to his parents and ease their worry over him, he ends up in some wild situations and places, such as the belly of a fish. He redeems himself by helping King Arthur and with the award he receives he goes back home to his parents. This story isn't my favorite of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The illustrations are beautiful and make the story more interesting to read.

Long ago, in the merry days of good King Arthur, there lived a ploughman and his wife. They were very poor, but would have been contented and happy if only they could
