But thankfully her lack of suitable suitors doesn't last long, and soon she finds herself in a back room with her skirt hiked up to her hips and her cherry more than popped. Popped hard and unprotected.

Veronica wanted one thing and that was all. She wanted to lose her virginity. The world was going to end. Everyone was saying so. Okay, so maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But things were scary, and if she knew one thing, it was that she was not going to die a virgin. No way, no how.

Her friend Jonah had told her about this little dive bar out of town. It stayed full of motorcycle gang members. Big men, strong men. Independent thinkers. When it came to chasing someone to lose her virginity to, she wanted someone who knew what they wanted in life and wasn’t afraid to go after it. That’s where the biker bar came in.

Are you sure you want to do this? asked Jonah.

Veronica and Jonah had been friends since the first grade, and Veronica had known that Jonah was gay since second grade. Jonah finally figured it out in the fifth grade.

Yes, I’m sure. I told you, I am not going to die a virgin.

"And I told you that if you wanted someone to do it that I would do it.

Jonah, you and I both know that you would hate every second of us having sex. You would have to shut your eyes and imagine that you are fucking Paul Newman.

Paul Newman? Where did that come from?

Veronica shrugged. "I don’t know. I watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid last night. He was a hottie. Come on. Let’s go inside."

Veronica reached for the door handle to the lonely, out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere bar, and this time Jonah didn’t stop her. The front of the bar was lined with motorcycle bikes of every make and type, three rows deep. In the distance the roar of thunder of a few more motorcycles could be heard making their way to the bar.

Veronica almost wished that Jonah had stopped her. At least then if she did decide to back out, she could blame him instead of accepting that she was the one who got scared. But she was nineteen years old. It was time to let fear go and except the possibilities of life.
