About this ebook
Joan Green
In the book “Resilience” Joan Green shares her life as a little girl growing up in a loving family. However, Joan felt she couldn’t tell anyone when sexual abuse happened. Joan learnt survival instincts and the narrative takes her on a journey to get to where she had a voice that was heard. The comment “I didn’t know what to do” after Joan’s husband died by suicide was the catalyst for her writing a thesis on ‘Bridging the Gap between Families in Crisis and the Church and Community. Encouraged by being told many times that you need to write your story Joan’s faith has been a major part of her spirituality, hope, and search for meaning.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5As a teacher I appreciate this collection of links and information, as accessing software and devices for use in special education is otherwise haphazard or almost accidental. The book is organized into various sections to address student needs, such as "stretegies to improve writing", and "to improve auditory comprehension", which allows teachers to focus in on the required need. Helpful!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As an educator, I found this book a great resource. The chapters were divided into easy categories for specific needs and provided many websites that would help all students in your classroom. This saves time in researching and made it nice to have all necessary information in one place. I have implemented some of the resources in my classroom and have seen the students enjoying the additional resources.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Communication, learning, attention can be especially challenging for children with disabilities. Author Green provides a valuable resource for helping children overcome learning challenges with on-line resources for mobile websites, Facebook groups, blogs, wikis, podcasts, videos, researching cell phones or eBook readers, and mobile device apps. Mobile devices apps focus on articulation and speech intelligibility, word knowledge and word retrieval, improve speaking in phrases and sentences, teaching actions and directing others, verb agreement and tense, comprehension of sounds, interactive books, improving writing skills, and improving cognition. Apps are mostly for Apple devices, although Android Mac, and Windows software are also included. Prices range from free to over $1,000. This is a valuable resource for children, teachers, and parents!
