About The King James Bible

The King James Bible is often referred to as the King James Version (KJV). There are slightly different versions of the King James Bible and in this e-book we use the King James Pure Cambridge Version which we call KJB for short. The following information is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

King James Version - General History: The King James Version (KJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV) or King James Bible (KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. In 1612, the first King James Version using Roman Type was issued. This quarto version is only second to the 1611 folio KJV. First printed by the King's Printer Robert Barker, this was the third translation into English to be approved by the English Church authorities. The first was the Great Bible commissioned in the reign of King Henry VIII (1535), and the second was the Bishops' Bible of 1568. In January 1604, James I convened the Hampton Court Conference where a new English version was conceived in response to the perceived problems of the earlier translations as detected by the Puritans, a faction within the Church of England.

James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy. The translation was done by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England. In common with most other translations of the period, the New Testament was translated from Greek, the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew and Aramaic text, while the Apocrypha was translated from the Greek and Latin. In the Book of Common Prayer (1662), the text of the Authorized Version replaced the text of the Great Bible – for Epistle and Gospel readings (but not for the Psalter which has retained substantially Coverdale's Great Bible version) and as such was authorized by Act of Parliament. By the first half of the 18th century, the Authorized Version had become effectively unchallenged as the English translation used in Anglican and Protestant churches, other than for the Psalms and some short passages in the Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England. Over the course of the 18th century, the Authorized Version supplanted the Latin Vulgate as the standard version of scripture for English-speaking scholars. With the development of stereotype printing at the beginning of the 19th century, this version of the Bible became the most widely printed book in history, almost all such printings presenting the standard text of 1769 extensively re-edited by Benjamin Blayney at Oxford; and nearly always omitting the books of the Apocrypha. Today the unqualified title 'King James Bible' commonly identifies this Oxford standard text.

Elberfelder 1905

Ein Auszug aus Wikipedia:

Die Elberfelder Bibel ist eine deutsche Bibelübersetzung, die erstmals 1855 (Neues Testament) bzw. 1871 (Altes Testament) erschien. Sie konnte zwar nie die gleiche Verbreitung wie die Lutherbibel finden, hat aber im Laufe der Zeit wegen ihrer begriffsnahen Übersetzungsweise und Texttreue viele Freunde gewonnen. Die Wörtlichkeit der Übersetzung hat in ihr Vorrang vor sprachlicher Schönheit. Damit wurde sie zum Vorbild für viele weitere Übersetzungen.

Der Name bürgerte sich ein, weil ein großer Teil der Übersetzungsarbeit in Elberfeld (seit 1. August 1929 ein Stadtteil von Wuppertal) stattfand. Initiatoren der Übersetzung waren Julius Anton von Poseck, Carl Brockhaus und John Nelson Darby. Damit stand die Elberfelder Bibel anfangs in enger Verbindung mit der Brüderbewegung und dem Dispensationalismus.

A Károlyi-biblia (protestáns gyakorlatban: Károli-biblia) avagy vizsolyi biblia a legrégibb fennmaradt (és ma is használt) teljes, magyar nyelvre fordított Biblia. A fordítást, a 16. században Károlyi Gáspár és lelkésztársai végezték, a könyv kinyomtatásában pedig Mankovits Bálint nyomdász segédkezett 1590-ben. Állandó kiállítás tárgyát képezi egy másolat, amely Vizsolyban tekinthető meg.

A Szentírást Károlyi Gáspár (a protestáns gyakorlatban: Károli Gáspár) református esperes, gönci lelkész fordította le, a munkálatoknak 1586-ban kezdett neki. Három év múlva el is készült a teljes fordítás. Károlyi három év alatt egyedül nem fordíthatta le az egész Bibliát; a fordítás nyelvének vizsgálata arra vall, hogy legalább három segítőtársa volt. Az Újtestamentum nyelvileg egységesnek látszik, ebből valószínűsíthető, hogy ezt a részt teljes egészében Károli fordította. A nyomtatást 1589. február 18-án kezdték meg a lengyel származású Mantskovits Bálint vezetésével, aki a nagy feladathoz Németalföldről hozatta a betűket, a papírt pedig Lengyelországból szerezték be. Mantskovits a nyomdáját Galgócról helyezte át Vizsolyba. A nyomtatás elkezdésekor még nem készült el a teljes fordítás, ezért Károlyi kéziratait az akkori gönci diákok – köztük Szenczi Molnár Albert – laponként, gyalogszerrel hordták Vizsolyba. 1589. március 3-án Ernő főherceg és a királyi titkár, Faustus Verantius arról írt a szepesi kamarának, hogy Vizsolyban régi naptárt és más hasonló könyveket nyomtatnak, ezért Rákóczi Zsigmond segítségével betűit és könyveit kobozzák el. Rákóczi Zsigmond március 26-án a szepesi kamarán keresztül kérte, hogy engedjék meg a Biblia nyomtatását befejezni, és tagadta, hogy a nyomdász naptárnyomtatással foglalkozik. Rákóczi Vizsoly földesura volt, aki akkoriban még olyan kedvelt volt Bécsben, hogy meg tudta akadályozni a nyomtatás leállítását. További pártfogók voltak még: Ecsedi Báthori István, országbíró, híres imádságíró, valamint Drugeth Bálint – Ecsedi Báthori István sógora –, zempléni főispán és Magócsy Gáspár földbirtokos. Our Bible Introduction

Gods word is surely the most wonderful and astounding text given mankind throughout all time. Only a thourough study of it can unlock its secrets. We believe it is critical, not just in this time and age, to understand Gods nature. At present everything seems to be upside down, where good is bad and bad is good. Our direction and compass is knowing God wrote His word to stand the test of time since He clearly wrote it prophetically, seeing the end from the beginning. How do we know? We know because He has confirmed many of the events that are happening in the world and have happened even within our own small lifespan. God has spoken of and prophecied about world wide events in The Bible and these prophecies are unique. You will not find anything like The Bible on planet Earth with such mindblowing accuracy and precision. But on a smaller level, each man and woman needs to make up their mind and walk out that which God tells them. That is when we have the signs and wonders following, by acting upon and putting our trust in The word of God, The Bible. It is indeed written that Jesus Christ is the author of our faith and what more can we ask for. I have personally seen people healed from incurable sicknesses such as HIV. Through the authority Jesus gave us I have cast out Demons, seen metal disappear from a body and be replaced with normal bones. I have set people free from the smallest sickness to terminal sickness and I can testify of the immense joy that follows a battle fought and won! There are many witnesses of the signs and wonders that will happen to anyone who choose to believe God and dares to walk the talk. Surely, The Body of Christ is active and alive and God is good to His children! But we need to heed His word and seek the knowledge He has for us. Not just through the word, but through closeness with God and active fellowship with our brothers and sisters. The Holy Spirit will always confirm The Truth that Jesus Christ of Nazareth wants to share with us.

But do not just take this for granted. Gods word can surely be dug into, tested, verified and found worthy. But for you to incorporate it into your life and see the reality of it, requires faith. Living faith, not dead faith. A heartbeat at a time, day by day, feeding upon The Word of God and enjoying the fruit of The Spirit. When we ask God, pursuit the truth He has set before us, He will surely answer in time. Do not think it will lead you to nowhere, cause it will not. This is not just some senseless gong ho as unbelievers will have it, sprinkled with nice stories of miracles and what not. Far from it. We have seen this time and time again. The truth is singular and our creator is true and The One and only I AM. There are no multiple Gods here, that is a lie from the devil. Neither is God a floating self-aware entity made up by every living being. Earth, or Gaia as many calls it is a fiction and a fairytale. How we have stumbled, fallen and seen death all around us, but never did it enlighten us until Jesus Christ of Nazareth came and showed us the truth and nothing but the truth. He is surely the way, the truth and the life. Unless a person walks it out according to Gods knowledge, that person will continue sleepwalking until the very end. Such an end would be sad to say the least. Wake up now and taste the goodness of God and draw close to Him and He will draw close to you! And if you have already woken up, but are walking around feeling sleepy: *fight* in order to not fall asleep again, seek Father with all your heart, mind and soul and be vigilant in doing so! Even so, I must admit I have no clue as to how God has managed to put together The Bible in the way He has. To my own intellect I looked at The Bible as flawed, beyond repair and full of tairytales. But that was before I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and experienced the power of God through an evangelist who took The Bible literal. The signs and wonders have not stopped since. Not because of me, but because God never changes and He has clearly showed that He wants everyone saved! Hands down, this is the best news I have ever heard and experienced! Love your God with all your heart, with all your might and everthing you are and you will surely conquer whatever comes against you, no matter the size or seeming severity. God seeks your heart, your attention and your affection. Through Him you will overcome the desires and the lusts of this world and live a life of abundance into eternity.

Please forgive me for being so blunt and straight forward. I sincerely wish for you all to be and walk in the blessing God has for you. Some of you are even walking in what feels like a desert, but remember that God will chastise those He loves. Not because He hates us, on the contrary. He is our Father if we let Him, and He will always see to it that as long as we listen to Him we will carry more fruit. And sometimes a time in the desert is needed. Even so, please fear not, because God is surely on your side when you seek Him with all your heart. Surely nothing is impossible with our Father in heaven. If He has spoken it will come to pass! Matthew 2 :1

kjb Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

elb Als aber Jesus zu Bethlehem in Judäa geboren war, in den Tagen Herodes', des Königs, siehe, da kamen Magier vom Morgenlande nach Jerusalem, welche sprachen:

kar A mikor pedig megszületik vala Jézus a júdeai Bethlehemben, Heródes király idejében, ímé napkeletről bölcsek jövének Jeruzsálembe, ezt mondván:

Matthew 2 :2

kjb Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

elb Wo ist der König der Juden, der geboren worden ist? Denn wir haben seinen Stern im Morgenlande gesehen und sind gekommen, ihm zu huldigen.

kar Hol van a zsidók királya, a ki megszületett? Mert láttuk az ő csillagát napkeleten, és azért jövénk, hogy tisztességet tegyünk néki.

Matthew 2 :3

kjb When Herod the king had heard [these things], he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

elb Als aber der König Herodes es hörte, wurde er bestürzt, und ganz Jerusalem mit ihm;

kar Heródes király pedig ezt hallván, megháborodék, és vele együtt az egész Jeruzsálem.

Matthew 2 :4

kjb And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

elb und er versammelte alle Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten des Volkes und erkundigte sich bei ihnen, wo der Christus geboren werden solle.

kar És egybegyűjtve minden főpapot és a nép írástudóit, tudakozódik vala tőlük, hol kell a Krisztusnak megszületnie?

kjb And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

elb Sie aber sagten ihm: Zu Bethlehem in Judäa; denn also steht durch den Propheten geschrieben:

kar Azok pedig mondának néki: A júdeai Bethlehemben; mert így írta vala meg a próféta:

Matthew 2 :6

kjb And thou Bethlehem, [in] the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

elb Und du, Bethlehem, Land Juda, bist keineswegs die geringste unter den Fürsten Judas; denn aus dir wird ein Führer hervorkommen, der mein Volk Israel weiden wird.

kar És te Bethlehem, Júdának földje, semmiképen sem vagy legkisebb Júda fejedelmi városai között: mert belőled származik a fejedelem, a ki legeltetni fogja az én népemet, az Izráelt.

Matthew 2 :7

kjb Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

elb Dann berief Herodes die Magier heimlich und erforschte genau von ihnen die Zeit der Erscheinung des Sternes;

kar Ekkor Heródes titkon hivatván a bölcseket, szorgalmatosan megtudakolá tőlük a csillag megjelenésének idejét.

Matthew 2 :8

kjb And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found [him], bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

elb und er sandte sie nach Bethlehem und sprach: Ziehet hin und forschet genau nach dem Kindlein; wenn ihr es aber gefunden habt, so berichtet es mir, damit auch ich komme und ihm huldige.

kar És elküldvén őket Bethlehembe, monda nékik: Elmenvén, szorgalmatosan kérdezősködjetek a gyermek felől, mihelyt pedig megtaláljátok, adjátok tudtomra, hogy én is elmenjek és tisztességet tegyek néki.

Matthew 2 :9

kjb When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

elb Sie aber, als sie den König gehört hatten, zogen hin. Und siehe, der Stern, den sie im Morgenlande gesehen hatten, ging vor ihnen her, bis er kam und oben über dem Orte stand, wo das Kindlein war.

kar Õk pedig a király beszédét meghallván, elindulának. És ímé a csillag, a melyet napkeleten láttak, előttük megy vala mind addig, a míg odaérvén, megálla a hely fölött, a hol a gyermek vala.

kjb When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

elb Als sie aber den Stern sahen, freuten sie sich mit sehr großer Freude.

kar És mikor meglátták a csillagot, igen nagy örömmel örvendezének.

Matthew 2 :11

kjb And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

elb Und als sie in das Haus gekommen waren, sahen sie das Kindlein mit Maria, seiner Mutter, und sie fielen nieder und huldigten ihm; und sie taten ihre Schätze auf und opferten ihm Gaben: Gold und Weihrauch und Myrrhe.

kar És bemenvén a házba, ott találák a gyermeket anyjával, Máriával; és leborulván, tisztességet tőnek néki; és kincseiket kitárván, ajándékokat adának néki: aranyat, tömjént és mirhát.

Matthew 2 :12

kjb And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

elb Und als sie im Traum eine göttliche Weisung empfangen hatten, nicht wieder zu Herodes zurückzukehren, zogen sie auf einem anderen Wege hin in ihr Land.

kar És mivel álomban meginttettek, hogy Heródeshez vissza ne menjenek, más úton térének vissza hazájokba.

Matthew 2 :13

kjb And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

elb Als sie aber hingezogen waren, siehe, da erscheint ein Engel des Herrn dem Joseph im Traum und spricht: Stehe auf, nimm das Kindlein und seine Mutter zu dir und fliehe nach Ägypten, und sei daselbst, bis ich es dir sage; denn Herodes wird das Kindlein suchen, um es umzubringen.

kar Mikor pedig azok visszatérnek vala, ímé megjelenék az Úrnak angyala Józsefnek álomban, és monda: Kelj fel, vedd a gyermeket és annak anyját, és fuss Égyiptomba, és maradj ott, a míg én mondom néked; mert Heródes halálra fogja keresni a gyermeket.

kjb When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

elb Er aber stand auf, nahm das Kindlein und seine Mutter des Nachts zu sich und zog hin nach Ägypten.

kar Õ pedig fölkelvén, vevé a gyermeket és annak anyját éjjel, és Égyiptomba távozék.

Matthew 2 :15

kjb And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

elb Und er war daselbst bis zum Tode Herodes', auf daß erfüllt würde, was von dem Herrn geredet ist durch den Propheten, welcher spricht: Aus Ägypten habe ich meinen Sohn gerufen.

kar És ott vala egész a Heródes haláláig, hogy beteljesedjék, a mit az Úr mondott a próféta által, a ki így szólt: Égyiptomból hívtam ki az én fiamat.

Matthew 2 :16

kjb Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

elb Da ergrimmte Herodes sehr, als er sah, daß er von den Magiern hintergangen worden war; und er sandte hin und ließ alle Knaben töten, die in Bethlehem und in allen seinen Grenzen waren, von zwei Jahren und darunter, nach der Zeit, die er von den Magiern genau erforscht hatte.

kar Ekkor Heródes látván, hogy a bölcsek megcsúfolták őt, szerfölött felháborodék, és kiküldvén, megölete Bethlehemben és annak egész környékén minden gyermeket, két esztendőstől és azon alól, az idő szerint, a melyet szorgalmasan tudakolt a bölcsektől.

kjb Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,

elb Da wurde erfüllt, was durch den Propheten Jeremias geredet ist, welcher spricht:

kjb In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping [for] her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

elb Eine Stimme ist in Rama gehört worden, Weinen und viel Wehklagen: Rahel beweint ihre Kinder, und sie wollte sich nicht trösten lassen, weil sie nicht mehr sind.

kar Szó hallatszott Rámában: Sírás-rívás és sok keserves jajgatás. Rákhel siratta az ő fiait és nem akart megvigasztaltatni, mert nincsenek.

Matthew 2 :19

kjb But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

elb Als aber Herodes gestorben war, siehe, da erscheint ein Engel des Herrn dem Joseph im Traum in Ägypten und spricht:

kar Mikor pedig Heródes meghalt, ímé az Úrnak angyala megjelenék álomban Józsefnek Égyiptomban.

Matthew 2 :20

kjb Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

elb Stehe auf, nimm das Kindlein und seine Mutter zu dir und ziehe in das Land Israel; denn sie sind gestorben, die dem Kindlein nach dem Leben trachteten.

kar Mondván: Kelj fel, vedd a gyermeket és annak anyját, és eredj az Izráel földére; mert meghaltak, a kik a gyermeket halálra keresik vala.

Matthew 2 :21

kjb And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

elb Und er stand auf und nahm das Kindlein und seine Mutter zu sich, und er kam in das Land Israel.

kar Õ pedig felkelvén, magához vevé a gyermeket és annak anyját, és elméne Izráel földére.

kjb But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:

elb Als er aber hörte, daß Archelaus über Judäa herrsche, anstatt seines Vaters Herodes, fürchtete er sich, dahin zu gehen; und als er im Traum eine göttliche Weisung empfangen hatte, zog er hin in die Gegenden von Galiläa

kar Mikor pedig hallá, hogy Júdeában Arkhelaus uralkodik, Heródesnek, az ő atyjának helyén, nem mert vala oda menni, hanem minthogy álomban meginteték, Galilea vidékeire tére.

Matthew 2 :23

kjb And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

elb und kam und wohnte in einer Stadt, genannt Nazareth; damit erfüllt würde, was durch die Propheten geredet ist: Er wird Nazarener genannt werden.

kar És oda jutván, lakozék Názáret nevű városban, hogy beteljesedjék, a mit a próféták mondottak, hogy názáretinek fog neveztetni.

Matthew 3 :1

kjb In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

Matthew 3 :2

kjb And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

elb Tut Buße, denn das Reich der Himmel ist nahe gekommen.

kar És ezt mondja vala: Térjetek meg, mert elközelített a mennyeknek országa.

Matthew 3 :3

kjb For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

elb Denn dieser ist der, von welchem durch den Propheten Jesaias geredet ist, welcher spricht: Stimme eines Rufenden in der Wüste: Bereitet den Weg des Herrn, machet gerade seine Steige.

kar Mert ez az, a kiről Ésaiás próféta szólott, ezt mondván: Kiáltó szó a pusztában: Készítsétek az Úrnak útját, és egyengessétek meg az ő ösvényeit.

kjb And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

elb Er aber, Johannes, hatte seine Kleidung von Kamelhaaren und einen ledernen Gürtel um seine Lenden; seine Speise aber war Heuschrecken und wilder Honig.

kar Ennek a Jánosnak a ruhája pedig teveszőrből vala, és bőröv vala a dereka körül, elesége pedig sáska és erdei méz.

kjb Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

elb Da ging zu ihm hinaus Jerusalem und ganz Judäa und die ganze Umgegend des Jordan;

kar Ekkor kiméne ő hozzá Jeruzsálem és az egész Júdea és a Jordánnak egész környéke.

Matthew 3 :6

kjb And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

elb und sie wurden von ihm im Jordan getauft, indem sie ihre Sünden bekannten.

kar És megkeresztelkednek vala ő általa a Jordán vizében, vallást tevén az ő bűneikről.

Matthew 3 :7

kjb But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

elb Als er aber viele der Pharisäer und Sadducäer zu seiner Taufe kommen sah, sprach er zu ihnen: Otternbrut! Wer hat euch gewiesen, dem kommenden Zorn zu entfliehen?

kar Mikor pedig látá, hogy a farizeusok és sadduceusok közül sokan mennek ő hozzá, hogy megkeresztelkedjenek, monda nékik: Mérges kígyóknak fajzatai! Kicsoda intett meg titeket, hogy az Istennek elkövetkezendő haragjától megmeneküljetek?

kjb Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

elb Bringet nun der Buße würdige Frucht;

kar Teremjetek hát megtéréshez illő gyümölcsöket.

Matthew 3 :9

kjb And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to [our] father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

elb und denket nicht bei euch selbst zu sagen: Wir haben Abraham zum Vater; denn ich sage euch, daß Gott dem Abraham aus diesen Steinen Kinder zu erwecken vermag.

kar És ne gondoljátok, hogy így szólhattok magatokban: Ábrahám a mi atyánk! Mert mondom néktek, hogy Isten eme kövekből is támaszthat fiakat Ábrahámnak.

Matthew 3 :10

kjb And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

elb Schon ist aber die Axt an die Wurzel der Bäume gelegt; jeder Baum nun, der nicht gute Frucht bringt, wird abgehauen und ins Feuer geworfen.

kar A fejsze pedig immár a fák gyökerére vettetett. Azért minden fa, a mely jó gyümölcsöt nem terem, kivágattatik és tűzre vettetik.

Matthew 3 :11

kjb I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:

elb Ich zwar taufe euch mit Wasser zur Buße; der nach mir Kommende aber ist stärker als ich, dessen Sandalen zu tragen ich nicht würdig bin; er wird euch mit Heiligem Geiste und Feuer taufen;

kar Én ugyan vízzel keresztellek titeket megtérésre, de a ki utánam jő, erősebb nálamnál, a kinek saruját hordozni sem vagyok méltó; ő Szent Lélekkel és tűzzel keresztel majd titeket.

Matthew 3 :12

kjb Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

elb dessen Worfschaufel in seiner Hand ist, und er wird seine Tenne durch und durch reinigen und seinen Weizen in die Scheune sammeln, die Spreu aber wird er verbrennen mit unauslöschlichem Feuer.

kar A kinek szóró lapát van az ő kezében, és megtisztítja az ő szérűjét; és az ő gabonáját csűrbe takarítja, a polyvát pedig megégeti olthatatlan tűzzel.

kjb Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

elb Dann kommt Jesus aus Galiläa an den Jordan zu Johannes, um von ihm getauft zu werden.

kar Akkor eljöve Jézus Galileából a Jordán mellé Jánoshoz, hogy megkeresztelkedjék ő általa.

Matthew 3 :14

kjb But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

elb Johannes aber wehrte ihm und sprach: Ich habe nötig von dir getauft zu werden, und du kommst zu mir?

kar János azonban visszatartja vala őt, mondván: Nékem kell általad megkeresztelkednem, és te jősz én hozzám?

Matthew 3 :15

kjb And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

elb Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Laß es jetzt so sein; denn also gebührt es uns, alle Gerechtigkeit zu erfüllen. Dann läßt er es ihm zu.

kar Jézus pedig felelvén, monda néki: Engedj most, mert így illik nékünk minden igazságot betöltenünk. Ekkor engede néki.

kjb And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

elb Und als Jesus getauft war, stieg er alsbald von dem Wasser herauf; und siehe, die Himmel wurden ihm aufgetan, und er sah den Geist Gottes wie eine Taube herniederfahren und auf ihn kommen.

kar És Jézus megkeresztelkedvén, azonnal kijöve a vízből; és ímé az egek megnyilatkozának néki, és ő látá az Istennek Lelkét alájőni mintegy galambot és ő reá szállani.

kjb And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

elb Und siehe, eine Stimme kommt aus den Himmeln, welche spricht: Dieser ist mein geliebter Sohn, an welchem ich Wohlgefallen gefunden habe.

kar És ímé egy égi hang ezt mondja vala: Ez amaz én szerelmes fiam, a kiben én gyönyörködöm.

Matthew 4 :1

kjb Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

elb Dann wurde Jesus von dem Geiste in die Wüste hinaufgeführt, um von dem Teufel versucht zu werden;

kar Akkor Jézus viteték a Lélektől a pusztába, hogy megkisértessék az ördögtől.

Matthew 4 :2

kjb And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

elb und als er vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte gefastet hatte, hungerte ihn danach.

kar És mikor negyven nap és negyven éjjel bőjtölt vala, végre megéhezék.

Matthew 4 :3

kjb And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

elb Und der Versucher trat zu ihm hin und sprach: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so sprich, daß diese Steine Brot werden. Er aber antwortete und sprach:

kar És hozzámenvén a kisértő, monda néki: Ha Isten fia vagy, mondd, hogy e kövek változzanak kenyerekké.

Matthew 4 :4

kjb But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

elb Es steht geschrieben: Nicht von Brot allein soll der Mensch leben, sondern von jedem Worte, das durch den Mund Gottes ausgeht.

kar Õ pedig felelvén, monda: Meg van írva: Nemcsak kenyérrel él az ember, hanem minden ígével, a mely Istennek szájából származik.

kjb Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

elb Dann nimmt der Teufel ihn mit in die heilige Stadt und stellt ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels

kar Ekkor vivé őt az ördög a szent városba, és odahelyezé a templom tetejére.

Matthew 4 :6

kjb And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

elb und spricht zu ihm: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so wirf dich hinab; denn es steht geschrieben: Er wird seinen Engeln über dir befehlen, und sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, damit du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein stoßest.

kar És monda néki: Ha Isten fia vagy, vesd alá magadat; mert meg van írva: Az ő angyalainak parancsol felőled, és kézen hordoznak téged, hogy meg ne üsd lábadat a kőbe.

Matthew 4 :7

kjb Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

elb Jesus sprach zu ihm: Wiederum steht geschrieben: Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen.

kar Monda néki Jézus: Viszont meg van írva: Ne kisértsd az Urat, a te Istenedet.

Matthew 4 :8

kjb Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

elb Wiederum nimmt der Teufel ihn mit auf einen sehr hohen Berg und zeigt ihm alle Reiche der Welt und ihre Herrlichkeit und spricht zu ihm:

kar Ismét vivé őt az ördög egy igen magas hegyre, és megmutatá néki a világ minden országát és azok dicsőségét,

Matthew 4 :9

kjb And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

elb Alles dieses will ich dir geben, wenn du niederfallen und mich anbeten willst.

kar És monda néki: Mindezeket néked adom, ha leborulva imádsz engem.

Matthew 4 :10

kjb Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

elb Da spricht Jesus zu ihm: Geh hinweg, Satan! Denn es steht geschrieben: Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen.

kar Ekkor monda néki Jézus: Eredj el Sátán, mert meg van írva: Az Urat, a te Istenedet imádd, és csak néki szolgálj.

Matthew 4 :11

kjb Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

elb Dann verläßt ihn der Teufel, und siehe, Engel kamen herzu und dienten ihm.

kar Ekkor elhagyá őt az ördög. És ímé angyalok jövének hozzá és szolgálnak vala néki.

Matthew 4 :12

kjb Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

elb Als er aber gehört hatte, daß Johannes überliefert worden war, entwich er nach Galiläa;

kar Mikor pedig meghallotta Jézus, hogy János börtönbe vettetett, visszatére Galileába;

Matthew 4 :13

kjb And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

elb und er verließ Nazareth und kam und wohnte in Kapernaum, das am See liegt, in dem Gebiet von Zabulon und Nephtalim;

kar És odahagyva Názáretet, elméne és lakozék a tengerparti Kapernaumban, a Zebulon és Naftali határain;

kjb That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

kjb From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

kjb And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

kjb And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

elb Und als er von dannen weiterging, sah er zwei andere Brüder: Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes, seinen Bruder, im Schiffe mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus, wie sie ihre Netze ausbesserten; und er rief sie.

kar És onnan tovább menve, láta más két testvért, Jakabot a Zebedeus fiát, és Jánost amannak testvérét, a mint a hajóban atyjukkal Zebedeussal a hálóikat kötözgetik vala; és hívá őket.

kjb And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

kjb And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

elb Und Jesus zog in ganz Galiläa umher, lehrte in ihren Synagogen und predigte das Evangelium des Reiches und heilte jede Krankheit und jedes Gebrechen unter dem Volke.

kar És bejárá Jézus az egész Galileát, tanítva azok zsinagógáiban, és hirdetve az Isten országának evangyéliomát, és gyógyítva a nép között minden betegséget és minden erőtlenséget.

kjb And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

elb Und sein Ruf ging aus in das ganze Syrien; und sie brachten zu ihm alle Leidenden, die mit mancherlei Krankheiten und Qualen behaftet waren, und Besessene und Mondsüchtige und Gelähmte; und er heilte sie.

Matthew 5 :1

kjb And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

elb Glückselig seid ihr, wenn sie euch schmähen und verfolgen und jedes böse Wort lügnerisch wider euch reden werden um meinetwillen.

kar Boldogok vagytok, ha szidalmaznak és háborgatnak titeket és minden gonosz hazugságot mondanak ellenetek én érettem.

kjb Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

elb Freuet euch und frohlocket, denn euer Lohn ist groß in den Himmeln; denn also haben sie die Propheten verfolgt, die vor euch waren.

kar Örüljetek és örvendezzetek, mert a ti jutalmatok bőséges a mennyekben: mert így háborgatták a prófétákat is, a kik előttetek voltak.

Matthew 5 :13

kjb Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

elb Ihr seid das Salz der Erde; wenn aber das Salz kraftlos geworden ist, womit soll es gesalzen werden? Es taugt zu nichts mehr, als hinausgeworfen und von den Menschen zertreten zu werden.

kar Ti vagytok a földnek savai; ha pedig a só megízetlenül, mivel sózzák meg? nem jó azután semmire, hanem hogy kidobják és eltapossák az emberek.

Matthew 5 :14

kjb Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

elb Ihr seid das Licht der Welt; eine Stadt, die oben auf einem Berge liegt, kann nicht verborgen sein.

kar Ti vagytok a világ világossága. Nem rejtethetik el a hegyen épített város.

Matthew 5 :15

kjb Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

elb Man zündet auch nicht eine Lampe an und setzt sie unter den Scheffel sondern auf das Lampengestell, und sie leuchtet allen, die im Hause sind.

kar Gyertyát sem azért gyújtanak, hogy a véka alá, hanem hogy a gyertyatartóba tegyék és fényljék mindazoknak, a kik a házban vannak.

kjb Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

elb Also lasset euer Licht leuchten vor den Menschen, damit sie eure guten Werke sehen und euren Vater, der in den Himmeln ist, verherrlichen.

kar Úgy fényljék a ti világosságtok az emberek előtt, hogy lássák a ti jó cselekedeteiteket, és dicsőítsék a ti mennyei Atyátokat.

Matthew 5 :17

kjb Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

elb Wähnet nicht, daß ich gekommen sei, das Gesetz oder die Propheten aufzulösen; ich bin nicht gekommen, aufzulösen, sondern zu erfüllen.

kar Ne gondoljátok, hogy jöttem a törvénynek vagy a prófétáknak eltörlésére. Nem jöttem, hogy eltöröljem, hanem inkább, hogy betöltsem.

Matthew 5 :18

kjb For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

elb Denn wahrlich, ich sage euch: Bis der Himmel und die Erde vergehen, soll auch nicht ein Jota oder ein Strichlein von dem Gesetz vergehen, bis alles geschehen ist.

kar Mert bizony mondom néktek, míg az ég és a föld elmúlik, a törvényből egy jóta vagy egyetlen pontocska el nem múlik, a míg minden be nem teljesedik.

Matthew 5 :19

kjb Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

elb Wer irgend nun eines dieser geringsten Gebote auflöst und also die Menschen lehrt, wird der Geringste heißen im Reiche der Himmel; wer irgend aber sie tut und lehrt, dieser wird groß heißen im Reiche der Himmel.

kar Valaki azért csak egyet is megront e legkisebb parancsolatok közül és úgy tanítja az embereket, a mennyeknek országában a legkisebb lészen; valaki pedig cselekszi és úgy tanít, az a mennyeknek országában nagy lészen.

Matthew 5 :20

kjb For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

elb Denn ich sage euch: Wenn nicht eure Gerechtigkeit vorzüglicher ist als die der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, so werdet ihr nicht in das Reich der Himmel eingehen.
