APO LEARN is a GED study program operating within Superior Court’s Adult Probation department. Although we’re open to any adults, the majority of our students are on probation and are working towards a better life for themselves. Classes are free to attend, and we invite you to visit us on the web to learn more.

It started as one of those educator ideas. Something a teacher concocts that ticks all the boxes for good education- al outcomes: practice with writing, learning computer use, job skills, something to put on a resume. Skills and results that would indicate student growth. The idea: write about what a second chance means to them. The resulting collection would be published online as practice for digital skills.
When I first told my classes, reactions ranged from apathy to fear. The first two questions were Do I have to do this?
and How long does it need to be?
Typical responses, but our students are anything but. These aren’t kids, but adults working towards General Equivalency Diplomas (GED’s). Most
