The Hospice Chaplain’s Confessions Journals #1
()
About this ebook
Morgan Michael a chaplain who does the hospice circuit. This is the first published journal of what happened one day on the job. If you are up for mystery and people making the most of their final moments and the choices, they make. Naturally the stories include the best and worst of the human experience, so we have conspiracies, murder, mayhem, rape and revenge.
The members of “The Society”, all have contracted the exact same lethal non-communicable cancer. For the last 50 plus years they have been fighting the battle against ecological degradation of the planet in their own way. They have also been advocating the use of a “new” cure for alcoholism that has been successfully used in Europe and legal in the USA since 1994. Both causes pit them against, multibillion dollar interest of the fossil fuel interest and the 176 Billion dollar a year Rehab revolving door. Is it just a coincidence that all six people have the same lethal cancer?
Enjoy knowing that are also a part of a literary first, a little piece of history, without the police being called, a war or natural disaster, or having some special talent that only others can dream of having. At the time of the initial authorship and initial publication, this story is the first time the Sinclair Method for the treatment of Alcoholism is part of the plot. While this story is a work of fiction, the science, including a new and exciting method of treating alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) with a 78% verifiable success rate, is worth further review. There are books and videos about it and you can read Claudia Christian’s story on the CThreeFoundation.org website for yourself or watch “One Little Pill”. In the meantime, half of the net proceeds due the author is contributed to the CThreeFoundation, so buy many copies and do a good deed. A large print physical copy of the book available in addition to Ebook and Audiobook formats direct link will be coming soon.

Pen Names are useful for separating the part of me that needs the day job and paycheck from the naughty fun of writing fiction. Between my day job and dyslexia, writing has been a challenge but you cannot keep a good story down. I hope you enjoy the stories. If you do, tell everyone, if you do not, tell me at the contact information in the book. Free access codes for the first Angry Brothers based story, the rest have a small honorarium though from time to time there are free. The Angry Brothers is a free show that can be found on YouTube and in many other places.Hidden in my stories are actual science facts, as well as a mystery or two when I can. I always try to keep the elements of a good story, A little religion, a royal figure, a little sex (sometimes a lot), and a mystery. This makes the shortest story that meets these requirements is, "Good God, the Queen is pregnant; who did it?"I hope the readers like my stories enough to come back for more and, better yet give favorable recommendations to their friends. Please check out my newest website http://www.ashnomdeplume.com to get more detail on books. If you are interested in proofreading or commenting on a galley copy let me know. It is all good fun and I do enjoy honest feedback even when it is you missed this error.Ash

This is a work of fiction and not intended for young readers consider this a PARENTAL ADVISORY of unsuitable for young and/or impressionable minds, or those easily offended. Now for the legal stuff.
This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.
This book is not intended as a substitute for the medical advice of physicians. The reader should regularly consult a physician in matters relating to his/her health and particularly with respect to any symptoms that may require diagnosis or medical attention.
Now for some nonlegal stuff.
Why the is the ebook version priced less than a cup of coffee? So, you will get your money's worth without the sugar crash later. As an author and reader, I am on a budget, so unless it is a series that I have been hooked on, I am reluctant to pay a lot of money. Even on those, I look for the affordable paperback, despite production cost I do have this as low as practical. As one of the purposes of this book is to make the world more aware of a real cure for Alcohol Use Disorder, or Alcoholism as it is commonly known, hidden inside of entertainment so it is easier to swallow. There is too much preachy stuff with addiction which makes it hard for people to want to talk about it. For more information on the Sinclair Method, please research it on the net, or you can go to CThreeFoundation.org directly.

Greetings and Salutations,
You never get a second chance at a first impression is a great line, however; it is true. For those who know me, I always seem to find a unique twist to everything, as the printed and eBook could be called the first impression, and this is the second or third, then this could be our first encounter?
Don’t worry I will not be giving away the mystery as I answer the question, asked by my BETA listeners to this audio book. How did this book, and subsequent variations of the publication come into existence? My listeners were not that kind, as it was something along the lines of, "Sir, as someone with a face for radio and a voice for mime, how is it you are narrating the audio book, and can I have a free copy?
The joys of teaching in the new millennium, the boundless respect of my feelings is always so appreciated. Then, I did torture them with the first few attempts, as I had to develop skills and overcome deficiencies that I was unaware existed, so it is all good. In all honesty I was given some excellent advice and useable suggestions.
Among the suggestions is there is going there is going to be an interest among the international listening community so I have to speak extra slow and sometimes overly enunciate but fortunately audiobooks give the listener the ability to adjust the rate so if I going to slow for anybody my apologies I am trying to meet the needs of all the listeners so feel free to adjust the pitch volumes and rates of speed for your listening pleasure I won’t be offended.
Now, how did we get here? Well usually No good deed goes unpunished events.
Starts with lines like, Hold my beer!
The other great line is A friend asked for a favor.
Well on one is in the story and the other preceded the authorship.
Jack Angry of The Angry Brothers out of Omaha Nebraska is a long-time old friend. When he told me about his planned interview with Claudia Christian about her CT hreeFoundation.org and her documentary One Little Pill
I became intrigued. Like probably everyone on the planet I have at least one relative and friends with a problem with Alcoholism, Alcohol Dependency or whatever label of the day you find appropriate.
In preparation for the interview as Jack needed me to be on call. I therefore bought a copy of the documentary, which goes to support a charity, then I even watched the documentary. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Like most people I am aware of the many claims of success or lack of success depending on your point of view. Numbers around the 90% relapse or failure in the first year. Then is gets worse as the success rate of the other 8 to 12 % or an average 10% that make the one-year mark on them making it 5-year mark or more.
Upon hearing about Naltrexone and the use of the Sinclair Method having a 78% or better success rate with peer reviewed research to support the claim, I was naturally skeptical, as that goes with my whole science teacher thing. Now part of being skeptical is also give an honest examination and check it out. Well the results were the claims are supported by the verifiable evidence. As I like writing fiction, specifically science and mysteries, this was great stuff for starting a short story.
At the time of the writing one of my connections
with Alcoholism was going through a set of drama including an attempted suicide. There wasn’t much I could do directly, but I could pen a short story as a way of trying to get the information out in front of her and others wrapped in a mystery, long enough to keep their attention so that they might get the message. They say that the elements of a good story have a royal figure, a little mystery, a little sex and religion. As the old joke goes the shortest story to meets this criteria is Good God the Queen is pregnant, who is the Father?
During the interview Claudia lamented about how she has been trying in vain to get someone among the mainstream scriptwriters and/or well-established authors, to hop on board and write something with alcohol use disorder that was not the traditional AA, twelve step rehab story. As I still need my day job to make ends meet, she didn’t get exactly what she wished for, but I did create and arrange for the story to be publish in print and eBook formats, and now venture into the world of audiobooks.
After the publication of the story, I discovered that this may be the first fiction story that featured the Sinclair Method in the story. I guess this means at worse you are listening to history, though I hope I provide more entertainment than that. Several of my following stories give a bit more than a nod to the treatment method. Outside the figures of the cost and percentages the story is fiction, and should not take the place of professional advice, but if it gets those who have a problem to consider treating the problem as a medical condition where the Sinclair Method or some other pharmacological extinction methodology is on the menu, then I can tell myself it was worth the time and expense.
During the story the topic of gene editing and green power is in the mix, in some cases the good parts and sometimes the dangers are in discussion. Once again, besides a little entertainment, if you the audience give the topics some thought this is a good thing. As for what the correct answers are or are not, that is not for me to say. Sometimes we just need to consider the topic as a starting point for discussion in this world. Once again, the multi-billion-dollar annual bill for treatment of alcohol addiction is an accurate as I could determine at the time of the authorship which is worth consideration in its own right, because as Einstein might have said Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results,
though from what I hear that it may have originated for alcohol and narcotics addiction, which would also be appropriate for this book.
As for the mystery, while it is a fiction, I did have art imitate life as much as I could so things are not cut and dried, as you might expect, but Shades of Grey, which is in keeping with a title of another of my set of my books, not to be confused with another author’s works, which mine are not related to but precede the similar title and a different genre by over a decade.
When creating this story, it was my intention that it would be part of mystery series, of a darker flavor, but as stories can take on a life of their own this one is not all that dark. Yes, I did some research in the areas of hospice and geriatrics in the creation of the story to keep things in the realm of realistic events and behaviors.
As a story teller I do hope you get some entertainment out of the story and it is not a waste of your time and hard-earned money. In this audio edition which I am the narrator, thereby
