    Dreams

    I had a weird dream last night, said Sam with a puzzled, yet concerned look on her face. How weird? her friend asked. Very weird! Sam replied. And with an even more puzzled look, she continued. I dreamed that my sister and I were driving up from Atlanta to Washington. When we got to West Virginia, we stopped for gas. A man came over to us and said he was having problems with his car and asked if we were going towards Washington. I said ‘yes.’ So, he asked if we would mind giving him a ride. Quite frankly, I was a bit nervous, but he looked well groomed, clean shaven, and he spoke nicely. He was also carrying a leather attaché case.

    So, what happened? her friend asked. Well, we filled up and left, said Sam. He was in the back seat, and as we drove, I could feel him staring at me. And every so often I would look in my rearview mirror to catch him with a sheepish grin on his face. He never said a word, and he didn’t seem threatening, that’s probably why I didn’t pull over. But there was something about his grin.

    Did he tell you his name, or say where he was from? her friend asked. No! Sam replied. "And I didn’t ask. We got into Washington, D.C. about 2:30 p.m. He thanked us, and got out of the car. What was also weird was that he just stood there, staring at us, as we pulled off. I was so relieved to get away that I didn’t notice he wasn’t carrying his attaché case. We drove four blocks when my sister noticed it lying on the back seat. So, I made a right turn and circled the block to see if he was there.
