The Feng Shui Wealth Guide - Suzanne Harper
Introduction - What Is Feng Shui?
The Chinese words feng shui
mean, literally, Wind Water
. Wind to blow new opportunities your way and water to nourish your ideas and bring them to life.
It is a study and a way of thinking that is as old as the Chinese Book of Wisdom – The I Ching (which translated means Easy Change
). Feng shui is the study and application of different types of energy to your home and surroundings to create harmony and balance.
It may mean that you move your furniture – or not. It is the energies that are important. It is acupuncture for the home and uses the rules of acupuncture, though applied differently.
What Are These Energies?
They are paired opposing forces that the Chinese considered as being responsible for life on earth:
Heaven and Earth
Fire and Water
Metal and Wood
Thunder and Lake
And of course, Yin (absolute feminine) and Yang (absolute masculine).
Who Is This Book For?
This book is written for anyone who is interested in using feng shui principles for themselves to enhance their luck, and most importantly, to achieve their goals more easily.
It employs several different systems of feng shui, all of which do work on their own. In my experience, they work even better when combined.
It is also my experience that it is possible to get things wrong as well as get them right. Believe me, I have made the mistakes. This book is written in the hope that you will not. By following the simple sequences I have detailed, you can get it right the first time.
I have seen feng shui help people living in tents, apartments, houses and mansions. The principles used are the same, and they apply equally whether you own your own home, or rent it from somebody else.
The other principle to bear in mind is that the energy of where you stay is very much a now
proposition.
When you travel, the feng shui energies that affect you are to do with where you are staying and not the home you have left behind.
The direction in which you travel also has an influence relating to the current year and even to the month. This comes from a system of astrology called 9 Star Ki.
Attitudes
There are several attitudes of mind that are as essential as the feng shui cures
.
The most important one is gratitude for your home and the realization that it is already perfect. Any changes you make are to support your creativity around designing your future.
Your home is already fine, wherever you are. You have attracted it, and it is working for you now. By making changes in your surroundings, you are just asking it to do so differently. That is all, no more or less.
The key idea is that your home supports you, and is in service to your life, and not the other way around!
The great thing about having these attitudes is that you can enjoy actually making the changes. This is always useful, considering that it can take the average person, who works full time and has family commitments, up to 2 months to do what is recommended in a consultation.
The other mind set that makes all the difference is to do with your own spiritual practice. If you spend half an hour to an hour a day meditating, praying or reflecting alone (preferably in a garden, or park, or in nature), you are effectively neutralizing any negative energy around you. If you are an atheist, reflection counts as spiritual practice.
Should you do this meditating, praying or reflecting in your home, the energy there will change for the better. This is the equivalent of space clearing and ordering your own internal space. It is always more powerful to work from the inside out rather than from the outside in.
Chapter 1 - Why You Need A Compass And The One Reading You Need To Get Right
If you want the feng shui changes that you make to produce results (assuming that is why you are reading this eBook), this next step is essential. Without it, your compass readings will be inaccurate and you may not get the Changes For The Year
correct.
The Chinese view is that every year, negative energies come from a particular direction. This is to do with cycles of the planets Saturn and Jupiter. These negative energies are a type of Earth energy called Shar Chi
. For feng shui purposes, we want to drain this energy or neutralize it.
This one adjustment is crucial to having everything else you do work. I really cannot emphasize it enough. Although every professional knows how important this is, most books on feng shui do not give it nearly enough weight.
By doing the Changes For The Year
, you minimize outside interference in your plans, whether from friends, relatives, enemies or institutions. This means that your creative efforts have a much greater chance of success. Who wants to be running interference all the time? It is far nicer when things just flow.
If you happen to be going through a particularly challenging period in your journey on this planet, you may also need to take the monthly Flying Stars into account as well. For now, it is enough to be aware of the yearly changes.
They are always posted on my website: www.fengshui-london.co.uk
How To Take A Compass Reading
All compass readings are relevant, and where you stand is important. In order to do the Changes For The Year
correctly, you need to be standing in the centre of your home, more about that
