Foreword

Several years ago the subject DEMONS is shrouded in mystery because Episcopal authorities do not want the matter lay bare before the generality of Christians. Demons and their activities are now these days become common knowledge but despite this, the ‘mainstream churches’ are still unwilling shying away from this reality. Today deliverance ministries are gearing up to in battle in addressing demonic menace which had hitherto plagued our collective lives.

This book is written to fill the ‘knowledge gap’ existing in addressing the challenges posed by demons for the Christians.  On several occasions, the Bible made us realize that the Lord has called our attention to the need to sermonize the gospel, chase out demons and heal the sick. It is my fervent hope this book will advance and fill the lacuna existing in the deliverance ministry as regards demons and breaking of occultic bondage.

The Nature of Demons

Demons can be described as spirit beings without a body that is looking for a body to live in. Where they live does not really matter as such they inhabit a person’s body or animals or plants though it is important for them to find means of expressing themselves. The origin of demons is so conflicting that there is no common point as to the actual source although this argument is relevant to the essence of this study.

The word ‘demon’ is believed to have originated from the Greek word daemon or daimon meaning breath or spirit. The fact that these spirit beings cannot be seen with our naked eyes does not obliterate the reality of their existence. There are also living as we are living. Several cultures across the world have always acknowledged their existence. But the so-called advanced culture of the West has always denied the reality of demons. We have seen the after effects of this gross denial with empty souls of beings walking all over the place!

Demons have been described as ‘part of personality’ by some psychologists but they equally refuse to accept their existence as spiritual entities. The gospels have revealed to us our Lord and Master in faith; Jesus Christ actually spoke about their existence and does deliverance for people who are under demonic oppression.  The statement
