About this ebook

When tourist extraordinaire Dena Thompson spots Curtis Schuster in the airport, she picks him as her vacation project. The poor guy is wearing a button-down shirt on the flight to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; the uptight geek obviously needs her help to loosen up.

All Curtis wants is a quiet week on the resort. Although the nutty blonde keeps inviting him on her outings – to a tequila factory, on a dinner cruise – he keeps turning her down. However, his refusals have a cost, and every time he stays behind, disaster strikes.

When he finally does go out with her, Curtis discovers that having adventures is fun when Dena is involved. But by the time he realizes this, they only have a couple days left. Will their vacation romance last once they get home?

    Chapter One

Curtis Schuster made a tick mark beside puzzle number twenty-three in his crossword magazine to indicate that he had completed it in full. He checked the time on the departure screen and decided that with half an hour to go he might as well start another puzzle. He twisted the top of his ball-point pen, turned the page, and looked at the clue for 1-Across: origin of the jumping bean.

The blonde in the next row was not the correct answer. Although she could be. The kinetically-enhanced woman was on her second extra-large coffee, and although he approved of her patriotic choice of Tim Hortons over Starbucks, he couldn’t fathom drinking an entire pot of anything before getting on a plane for five hours. Curtis was still on his first regular sized latte. It was cold now but he only had an inch left at the bottom of the cup.

He didn’t know if it was the amount of coffee or the caffeine, but the woman refused to sit still for more than five minutes at a time. She went to the news stand, to the bathroom, to check the arrivals board for Winnipeg’s James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. She was at a departure gate; why would she care if incoming flights were on time? At least she wasn’t sitting beside him, bumping him every time she got up or sat down. Curtis had placed his carry-on and jacket on the seat to his right. Normally he’d be concerned about taking up the extra space, but flying to Mexico on the last day of March guaranteed a half-full flight because it was the last departure date of the season. Most families had headed out the week before for Spring Break, and now were coming back as he headed south. He’d planned it this way to ensure a quiet trip.

M-E-X-I-C-A-- what was she doing now? Going to the bathroom again. He knew her second coffee was a bad idea. He
