About this ebook

When the last of Sharolyn's three sons became 21 years old she looked at her married life's accomplishments: she had been a devoted and loving wife, a caring and nurturing mother, a household manager, and volunteer community leader. With the main purpose in her life gone, she panicked. She looked ahead to the next thirty years, and the emptiness in her marriage and life became unbearable.
She explores love, loss, lust, and life through poetry and finds renewal.

Sexual at 55 - Sharolyn Mathieu Vettese

    The Forgotten Woman Within

    Stirring

As I wait for you to tell me

    One last thing

I feel the heat from below your belt

    Through my shearling coat

You stir me in so many ways… between my legs

    My heart

    My being

    I want to be rediscovered… re-loved

    Abruptly… I walk away

Secrets have a way of getting out

And we are both married to someone else

But, I wonder what would have happened

    Had I stayed?

    The Forgotten Woman Within

    Behind my holy Madonna persona

And under the weight I carry from menopause

I seize the forgotten woman I was

    When he touches my breast

    I block his hand

    Then reach for his lips

    He feels good and hard

I want to explore him, slowly

    Among the yellow dandelions

With no thoughts of right or wrong.

    Dutiful Marriage

    With their chins down

The old couple sits together in separate worlds

She looks one way, and he the other

    Anywhere, and everywhere without contact

This could be us in a few years

A marriage of endurance until death

No promised fun in the golden years

Instead, a future of repetitive monotony

Are we going to slowly kill each other with boredom?

    My Knight in Shining Armour

My heart races as I walk to
