Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love and beauty. One of the main myths about Aphrodite takes place during a celebration of love, which she attended. A joyous event was about to take place on Mount Pelion. King Peleus was marrying a sea nymph named Thetis. All the Greek gods and goddesses were invited to the wedding except Eris, the goddess of discord. She became furious when she found out and decided to get revenge by causing trouble. So she tossed a golden apple into the crowd. On the fruit she had written the words, To the Fairest.
