About this ebook

Ever noticed contradictions in Scripture? An honest, exciting, and relevant evaluation of the Theology we've been handed; Theology Reconsidered takes on the task of examining if what we have gotten is what Scripture really says. I don't wish to tell you what to think, but rather how to think for yourself and accurately discern Scripture as it was intended. Some things strike us instantly and others take a while to be revealed like the dawning of the sun -- slowly the light is seen a little at a time. Our walk with our Heavenly Father is always growing and expanding.

My heart is to see the Church-Bride rise up and each member of the Body of Messiah come to a place where they excel in every facet of life.

Are you desiring to walk in the miraculous and see people healed? Do you wish to increase in spiritual encounters with God? If you pour yourself into this material for yourself it will serve as a more than adequate launching pad for a lifetime of self-discovery in the Kingdom of YHVH which will never grow old, boring, or stagnant.

    Theology Reconsidered - Tim Hillis

    Reading:

An Introduction - Moving into God

Philemon 6 - That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

It is high time that the Body of Christ, the anointed ones, the ekklesia, the walkers in the heavenlies, the workers and bringers of the Glory, and carriers of all other current truths finally seek out every believer in Yeshua HaMashiach, for the preparation of the still immature Church-Bride to prepare as Esther did, for a meeting with the King. It is time that the entire Body begin to move under one banner and in one direction and the walls of man-made separation fall. It is time that each of the Ephesians 4:11 Offices work together to bring every member of the Body into the maturity of their God-assigned calling to this world. This book is an attempt to do just that; by taking us back to a First Century model of understanding the "church that the gates of hell will not be able to prevail against, from the perspective that Yeshua Himself intended. May we now begin to peel away the layers which have been built to protect a Nicolaitan (defeated laity) hierarchy, and to prevent the anointed one" that every believer is, from stepping fully into their God-ordained anointing. May Abba YHVH bless us as we do.

Before we begin, let's lay down a few simple bits of philosophy I adopted in order to help the reader better understand why this work was done. First of all, "theology" is, in an academic sense "the study of gods". Yes gods is meant to be plural because this is a Greek word used in the Second Temple era (a time I will often refer to as when Yeshua/Jesus walked the Earth in the flesh), and the Romans and Greeks of that time period worshiped a plethora of gods. Being that one studies from the brain and the brain is the organ which interacts with the mind portion of the soul (a topic covered in the Chapter on Soul vs. Spirit), I have elected to use a very simple definition of theology as it relates to both this book and any Modern Religion which subscribes to the ideal of Yeshua of Natzeret (Jesus of Nazareth – who was a netzer) as the Messiah. That definition is "what we think of/about God", because we arrive at our conclusions based on what we know, what we are told, what we choose to accept, and any other considerations we utilize to ultimately decide what we want to believe. So therefore, theology is what we think of/about God. Since John Chapter 1 describes Yeshua/Jesus as the WORD incarnate, and also the Creator, for the purposes of this book theology will also refer to what we think regarding the Word of God.

We will need to separate theology from doctrine for the purposes of this book, because what we believe and what we do should line up, but often do not. In the cases where they do, we must then be able to decide, is my theology correct and this is why I am doing according to Scripture?. Or, God forbid, we may need to ask ourselves am I choosing to believe something incorrect about God, and that is why my actions do not line up with His Word?. So inside these pages, "doctrine" will be defined as "what we do based on what we think about God". Or concisely put, our doctrine is determined by our theology, or should be......Since our beliefs and actions do not always line up, we must accept that we all suffer from the same dilemma Shaul (Paul) did as described in Romans 7.

Frankly, we could become extremely philosophical about this entire work which would lead us down paths others have taken. Most of those have found a very shallow relationship between themselves and God (YHVH), or even a spiritual dead end. We will give every effort to allow Scripture to be our guide. A First Century Hebraic perspective will be what I attempt to use throughout this book in order to help us better understand the message of Yeshua/Jesus. Some have written books about a single aspect of Yeshua/Jesus' life from the same perspective, but I will attempt to maintain a consistent Hebraic mindset from cover to cover, while addressing a number of theological/doctrinal issues. One purpose of this book is to bring to the forefront of your mind, as the reader, a virtual picture of who Yeshua/Jesus was and what He really taught. Another is to see if Scripture bears out the modern teachings about subjects which have become mainstream.

Many basic tenets of Christian Faith will be addressed. This book will give you an overview, and in some cases a deeper look than you have maybe been presented with before. It is not the purpose of this book to reprimand those who teach differently than you will find here, but rather to stimulate them to dig the topics out and study them deeply for themselves (from a Hebraic and not Greek perspective) in order to restore the many things we have lost since the Fist Century Church walked in great power as stated in Acts Chapter 4.

If it is possible, I want this book to bridge the gap between denominations. I want it to span the chasm between Messianic Judaism, the Hebrew Roots Movement, and mainstream Christianity. I want it to bring some measure of unity and clarity of perspective between them and open one another's eyes to the need they have for each other. I want it to connect the reader to the Message of Mashiach (Messiah) Yeshua/Jesus. I know there will be some from every group which will reject parts of this book and others will reject other parts. But as a whole, we need to collectively see, we who believe on Him whom God/YHVH/Adonai/HaShem sent; the real reasons He came to us and how to restore First Century power back into the Body of Messiah. The supernatural should be natural and a daily occurrence in the life of EVERY believer. Some say the Glory is the path, some say a greater anointing is the way, some say the Courts of Heaven are the key, some say Binding and Loosing, or the Key of David, or intimacy, or spiritual warfare, or fasting, others the ekklesia, etc. I say they are ALL correct and each has a piece of the solution. I want this book to bring a cohesiveness to a divided Kingdom. So I will use both Hebraic and English in many places. From the new believer to the experienced preacher or rabbi, I want to reach as many as will honestly and humbly approach the Scripture with clean hands and a pure heart, so we can all ascend the Mountain of God and See Him - and I hope this work will be a part (however small or big) of helping each reader do exactly that.

Are you ready for this journey? I suggest you check your heart before you begin. A spirit of offense or any aspect of the workings of offense in your life will keep you from embracing what Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) may say to you as you examine the findings of this project. It is not my role to convince you, but only to present you with the information which could lead you to a stronger, deeper and more real relationship with the Trinity (a relative term as you'll see in Oneness of God). Please take my words in love. My heart is to see the Church-Bride rise up and each member within the Body of Messiah come to a place where they excel in every facet of life. As the Apostle (Shiloach in Hebrew) Yochanan (John) put it Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.

One last thing to remember as you read this book, revelation is progressive. Some things strike us instantly and others take a while to be revealed like the dawning of the sun – slowly the light is seen a little at a time. Our walk with Abba is always growing and expanding. So if a part of this book just doesn't make sense on the first read, ponder it a while but continue reading. It may dawn on you or you may need to come back to that part again at a later time. Then your reasoning for why you choose to accept or reject it will be more clear. I am as transparent as I can be with understanding that not everyone will agree with any given part of this work. But, I can say that given time, if you dig it out for yourself this will serve as a more than adequate launching pad for a lifetime of self discovery in the Kingdom of YHVH which will never grow old, boring, or stagnant.

The preponderance of Scripture references are from the King James Version and are noted, all other versions will be noted. Any reference without notation is from the King James Version. This is not intended to be an exhaustive book of Systematic Theology. It is an evaluation of the Theology we've been handed to examine if what we have gotten is what Scripture really says. I don't wish to tell you what to think, but rather how to think for yourself and accurately discern Scripture as it was intended.

    Let's begin.

    Oneness of God

The collective oneness of God is made very apparent when placed to the one and only test which all precepts of Scripture should be placed to: the WORD
