It had finally arrived, a product that Marisa had been highly anticipating. The rumors at first sounded too good to be true, but reliable sources had all but confirmed them as far as she was concerned. The price-tag of twenty mere dollars seemed a little hard to believe, but it was of major relief given how hard it was for her just to track this stuff down. It was notoriously hard to find by design, it only showed up for sale on the Deep Web using a series of urls that constantly change and are nearly impossible to surf for even if you know exactly what you’re doing. It was almost as if someone had designed it this way intentionally so the product would only wind up in the hands of those who truly wanted it as opposed to the highest bidder. What one’s motives for this were could be debated forever, and Marisa especially after her four months of sleepless nights was not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The product had arrived in a small black box with no label, no return address, nothing.
