Holly was just getting settled in at Happy Hollow Stables when she found herself being adopted by a German shepherd that showed up looking for food.

 

Since the dog arrived without a collar or any type of identification, she took him to the local vet to help search for his owner.  The vet checked him for a microchip, but couldn't find anything.  Since she was unable to locate his owner, Holly decided Happy Hollow Stables could be his new home away from home until his owner could be found.

 

Soon after the dog got familiar with his new surroundings, Holly discovered he seemed to have yet another secret.  How will she find out what it is?

Holly sat down in her office chair gratefully. It had already been a busy morning of feeding and mucking stalls. McKenzie was in class, so Holly was all on her own for the moment. Though she was tired, she didn’t really mind. Happy Hollow Stable had been a lot of hard work for her in the few months since she rented the place, but that was something she knew going in. It was just a bit harder today since the weather had turned cold. A fine dusting of snow lay on the ground outside.

She was just about to pull her sandwich out of the fridge and have her lunch when the sound of boots on the concrete aisle of the barn stopped her. Hello? She wasn’t expecting anyone. She didn’t have any lessons scheduled for the afternoon, and McKenzie wasn’t due in until the evening feeding. She peeked her head out of the office. Can I help you?
