Mum was yawning her head off. She'd had a terrible sleep. Full of dreams and waking with strange noises from outside. She woke thinking she needed more sleep.

Chloe ran in all excited with Ben hard on her heels.

‘Barnaby’s coming, today isn’t he?’ she whispered in Mum's ear as she leant over the bed and pulled the blankets off her.

‘Ah, why did you do that?’ cried Mum as she shivered with the sudden blast of cold air.

‘Dad promised a cooked breakfast this morning and it’s ready,’ Chloe replied.

Ben had gathered her dressing gown and slippers up and he tossed the gown at her and placed the slippers where she could step into them.
