The iconic Mr. Scrooge has been replaced in this retelling by Mr. Jacob King, a middle school science teacher. Mr. Jacob King doesn't believe in Santa Claus, Christmas or anything that cannot be explained by a science. His very dull life is interrupted by three spirits that remind and show Mr. Jacob King visions from the past, present and future. The story is told from the point of view of Mr. King, a student and each of the three spirits that visit Mr. King.
