Chapter 1

Hey, don’t stray too far off, Stefan! How about coming back to where we all are!, the tour guide calls out to Stefan.

His friends and the tour guide rush to see if they can help him up, but he’s falling too far down. The slope breaks off into a few different ridges as Stefan realizes he’s falling down the side of the small mountain they were treading upon.

He loses his camera as he desperately reaches for the various vines that grow along these steep slopes. Some of them break and others slip out of his hands, but luckily for him, his reaching and grasping was able to slow his fall just enough to only cause minor injury.

Sitting up and being thankful for only having sustained light bruising, cuts and scrapes, he feels a sharp pain just above his right knee as he tries to stand. It turns out to be a really bad gash. Knowing he has to stop the bleeding and somehow prevent infection, he rips off one of the sleeves of his shirt and tears off the rest of the pant leg of his injured leg. He then folds his shirt sleeve and places it over the gash on his leg and tightly wraps and secures the torn pant leg around it, holding it in place.

After pulling himself together, Stefan realizes he can no longer get a signal on his cell phone. He tries to call out to his friends, but it was to no avail. He could barely hear them yelling down at him. It was impossible to make out
