Camilla Läckberg is a Swedish writer who was born in Fjällbacka, a Swedish coastal town which she uses as the setting for most of her novels, in 1974. She is the author of nearly a dozen crime novels, which have all enjoyed great success, both in Sweden and abroad. She received the Swedish People’s Literature Award in 2006, and her novel The Ice Princess won France's Grand Prix de Littérature Policière for Best International Crime Novel in 2008. All of her novels paint a picture of life in Fjällbacka, and follow the recurring characters of Erica Falck and her partner, police commissioner Patrik Hedström. Her novels are characterised by the emphasis they place on human relationships, and in particular, on
