Holly looked at me as I walked in.  “It is a shame you didn’t get here earlier!  The new boss has been looking for you all morning.”

“New boss?  Holly we aren’t going to go through this again, are we?”

Holly pointed to the nameplate that no longer was on the door.  Adam’s belongings and the name had been removed.

Adam had never told me that he was leaving, and the rumors that surrounded the firm were indeed true.  A part of me was still wondering if this was a joke.

I knocked on the door, but the person who was sitting in the high-backed executive chair continued to stare out the window without realizing I was even there.

“Sir, first of I am sorry I am late.  Usually, I am never late.  I didn’t mean to give you a bad first impression. I just was told you had been looking for me.”

The tall chair spun around, revealing who my new boss was.  The familiar dark, feathered hair with the dark eyes stared back at me.

Book 3 Description

Shion and I stole a kiss when Kinsley wasn’t looking.  The vacation to Japan was beyond amazing, and yet I was already missing being over there.  Life was simpler and less chaotic.  I wouldn’t have to worry about anyone finding out that I was dating my boss.  We lived together in the same house and now we had to go on with our different houses and pretend we weren’t dating.

“I am going to miss this!  We didn’t have to worry about anything or what we did or sneak kisses when no one was looking.” I whispered. 

We had already explained to Kinsley that Shion and I were dating.  She was calling him ‘Dad’ the whole vacation, even though we tried to explain Shion would never take William’s spot as she was hoping.  Shion and Kinsley had been bonding, and it seemed like a dream come true.  He had even promised to go to her dance recital, which was coming up.  I doubted William would make it.

Second Chance

Yes, I did want to talk to you, Shion replied.

My mouth opened and closed.  I wasn’t expecting to see Shion, the man that I had a one-night stand with as my new boss.

I felt my face become hot as I was embarrassed, hoping that the floor would open up under me. 

You snuck out this morning without leaving a note or even waking me up.  I am pretty sure I know why the reason you were late.  It was because you walked all the way to get your car or perhaps it was because you forgot something at my house.

I looked horrified as Shion reached into his desk drawer and pulled out black, lace and ruffled underwear with a pink bow.  My eyes continued to stare at them dangling from his finger and then back to his dark eyes that had been trying to seduce me from the other side of the office.

I quickly closed the door.  Okay, I got the fact you are mad at me for not leaving a note, but bringing my underwear to work is low!  How did you even know where I worked? I asked.

Shion smiled and shook his head.  What exactly is it that makes you afraid of men?  Are you scared that you will be in another relationship where you could be vulnerable?  Why can’t you just give it a chance?  It wasn’t like you had a problem with me last night.

My face turned redder as Shion had said this.  What exactly do you want?  Was it your goal to me out as a fool this morning?

Shion shook his head.  No, it wasn’t my intentions at all.  I felt a connection last night.  I felt like we could be more than a one-night stand.

I slept with you once.  How could you tell  if we connected or not? I asked as I grabbed my underwear from Shion.

I guess it is a bit strange that I show up into your life once again, sleep with you and become your boss within twenty-four hours.

You knew I worked here, didn’t you.

The truth is, yes I did know you worked here.

This is the worst nightmare come true, I mumbled as I reached for the door.

Is it Kelly?

I SLEPT with my boss!

Stop acting like it bothers you that I am your boss.  Before you leave, you probably want to put your panties in your pocket.  Oh, and don’t schedule anything for me from this Saturday on for a week.  I won’t be around. 

You realize if I knew you were going to be my boss, I wouldn’t have slept with you, I mumbled as I shoved my underwear in my pocket and left his office.

I could still hear Shion laughing as I made my way to my desk.

What did you think of the new boss?  Isn’t he HOT?  Between you and me, I would love to see him naked! Holly whispered.

My face had once again returned to a beautiful shade of crimson as my only thoughts were Shion wearing a bed sheet.

Holly nudged me.  Don’t worry, I won’t tell him that you think he has a cute butt.

You better not, I said as I returned to my computer.

Holly’s eyes widened suddenly, and I had a feeling it was too late.  I wasn’t sure how much more embarrassment I could handle for the day, but I didn’t want to find out either.

He is behind me, isn’t he? I asked.

Holly nodded.

I groaned as I turned around and glared.  Don’t you have anything better to do than to spy on your employees?

Shion just smiled and kept walking.

That was close!  Do you think he heard us? Holly asked.

I am sure if he did, he would tell us.

To be honest, I was positive he not only heard Holly’s comment of me thinking he was cute, but would question me later.  I knew he would at least point out if I thought he was cute, then why was I playing hard to get.

The rest of the day was quiet as I continued to schedule meetings and take messages for Shion, whenever he came out of his offices.  I made it look like I was on the phone, so I didn’t have to talk to him.  I wasn’t sure what to say, but at the moment I didn’t want to say anything. 

Having a one-night stand with someone from college was easier to swallow than having him turn into your boss.  What was I thinking?  Shion lived a whole different life than mine.  I struggled for everything I have, and still I wasn’t sure if I could hold on to it.  Everyone around the office had informed me that Shion was a billionaire.  I
