    1. DEATH

I unsheathed my sword and slashed it, removing the head of the closest Angel surrounding me. The rest of them rushed toward me. I continued with the movement of my sword. It cut through another, slicing off its head. I moved my shoulder toward the sword, continuing to power my swing. Two more reached out to me. As I saw them, the blade severed their arms. Their weapons fell to the ground at my feet. My body and sword finally stopped as it was imbedded into another chest. Blood from all the bodies splashed upon me from the sword's slash. The angel let out a scream as I gave the blade in his chest a twist as I tried to pull it out.

I let go of my sword to grab a spear coming toward my body. I grasped it then pulled it out of the Angel's hands. A look of surprise came over his face. I jabbed the blunt end of the spear into his head repeatedly until he dropped to the ground. After hearing another approaching me from behind, I drove the other end of the spear behind me, feeling blood splatter onto my back. I raised my leg and dropped it onto the Angel's head below me splitting it open just as his body fell to the ground. I turned around, still holding the spear. It went through the eye and out the back of the head of the Angel trying to attack me from behind. A few of my brothers came closer to me. They called out to see if I had been hurt as I fended off the other Angels trying to attack me.

Without replying, I turned and grabbed the handle of my sword. Pushing my foot on the body, I pulled it out from the Angel upon the ground. Grasping the spear with my other hand I pulled up the body, I had impaled. I swung my sword, cutting off the head from the body. After the body dropped, I drove the blunt end of the spear into the chest of the body. I stood back to gaze at the head on top of the spear. Out of the corners of my eyes, I could see blood shooting into the air. I lowered my eyes to watch my brothers fighting.

The area was filled with pure carnage. Blood soaked figures went among the dead and dying sparing no one. They severed heads and limbs as if they were afraid the bodies would come back to life. Fueled by bloodlust and hate they could not stop. Heads and limbs were tossed back and forth as if they were playing a macabre game.

I would not stop them. This venting of anger for the war had gone on far too long and my army sensed that the end was near. They finally stopped when the Father's army had no other Angels for them to kill. Still, I knew this was no time to rest. They are ready and want more.

Our war has lasted over a century. We have come this far. Our numbers have fallen from over a thousand to just a few hundred. We have now driven our opponents back to the Father's throne here in Heaven. I have witnessed my brother's kill and destroy their brothers; all in my name.

The Father and I have split the Heavens in two. It is my army of believers against his army of followers. The Father chose to toss me from the throne and now I will return to find out why.

I have brought my loyal brothers to an advantage of three to one over His minions. The universe would be nothing without me and I will not be defeated. I will gain my place on top of the throne again. Our day has come and we will put an end to this war. I will take the Heavens and the universe back, with or without the Father's forgiveness. My victory will gain freedom for all of my brothers and no longer will we have to serve the Father.

As I look into the faces of my brothers, I see their love for one another as well as me. They stand proud and I have no doubt they will fight for me to the end. I take a few steps back in order to view all of my brothers at once. They stand there with weapons in hand as one army, MY ARMY! They are ready for the final fight.

My brothers, I know this war seems to have lasted an eternity. I also know that so many of our brothers, on both sides, have fallen. However, know that it will not all be in vain because we now have the advantage! We shall reach the end of my quest. I will have my place back on the throne.

I cannot believe I have said my quest. I realize this war has all been for me. I must admit; I have taken my brothers to this end for my rightful place.

All of our fallen brothers will be avenged today! This war began from forgotten love. This is why we must not forget our brothers who have died for our cause. Remember, they died for a chance at everyone's freedom and the love we shared.

I need my questions answered. I must know why he pushed me away! How could the Father ignore me when I have stood beside him since the beginning?

"The Father has turned his back on us. We no longer matter to Him. He pushed us aside for creatures that cannot even think for themselves! They do not even know the Father exists."

How could he do this to me? I deserve to know.

We have been hurting for far too long. Today we will march forward and put an end to this insult. When his army is defeated, the Father will have to take notice of us. He will have to answer to us.

The Father will have to answer to me!

I walked toward my General, Belial. Please put me next to him. Push forward hard, give me the strength to walk up to the throne and confront him. I lower my head as I place my hands upon Belial's shoulders. I am sorry this has all been for me.

Belial removed my hands and lifted my face so that he could look into my eyes as he said, I too know your pain. My brother, I have been by your side throughout this war. You have given me a new life to fight for and the ability to think for myself. No longer will I just serve the Father. You have shown me free will. My dearest brother, I tell you that your reasons are right and you are beautiful! Thank you for everything.

Belial put his hand on my shoulder. I have always had the greatest respect for you. I have seen the Father push you aside and it has pained me to see him treat you this way. He pulled his sword out of its holster and raised it in the air. As your General I promise I will make you a path to his throne! We want to return to the divine light as much as you. Your brothers will fight for you to the end.

Of this, I am sure. I looked deeply into Belial's eyes and told him, Thank you. Then I faced my brothers, my army, and shouted, Let us fight one last time!

Side by side, we began to run toward the Father's temple. Every stride brought me closer to his throne. I could feel the energy run through me. I know my army is ready for this last fight. We are coming up to the temple rapidly. However, the closer we come, the thicker the air is becoming and everything is changing to white. I have never seen anything like this before.

I slow my pace to a walk. I cannot see anything. I cannot even see the ground I stand upon. I must protect my army.

Stop my brothers; I feel a trick is upon us. Gather to me quickly. Hurry, follow my voice. I began to hear their movement. Andrew, join me at my side. Brothers, all of you, come to me. I continued to call out until I felt my arm grasped. It is Andrew. Come closer, dear Andrew.

But wait, I feel someone pulling me through the dense air. Why would they be pulling me this way? Who is pulling me?

Stop, who are you? Why do you take me from my general? Brother, please stop! I said.

Then I see. I am face to face with a fleshless creature. This is not one of my brothers. There is no definition in his face. His face is as white as everything surrounding us in this unnatural haze. Now he turns to face me straight on. I see his eyes. There is no flesh above or below them, just eyes. There are only fire red eyes staring at me.

I gaze deeply into the eyes. I feel utterly helpless, as I look deeper still. All of a sudden, I feel pain shoot into my chest and I begin to feel weak. My brothers, stop! I shout through the suffocating pain. Turn around, now. A new challenge from the Father waits for me. Then I felt a sword pierce my gut.

Very smart, came softly from the creature. I would have killed you and your brothers in one stroke. However, why prolong the inevitable? Call them back, you will need all the help you can get right now.

Who- I begin to ask, but then the loathsome being interrupted me.

Actually I should be angry with you. It would have been a much stronger display of power if I had destroyed all of you in one swift attack.

Who- I again start to ask.

I think the Father would have been impressed. Don't you? This infuriating being continues as if I am not speaking.

    Wh-

Be polite and call them back.

    Nev-

I thought you might say that. However, your time is over. Realize that you have been beaten. This is your chance to keep your dignity and honor. Just give them to me, it has been a very long fight for them. You know that you have lost so hand them over and accept your defeat.

Who are you? I finally was able to ask.

    Death, the creature replied.

Veering my eyes away from his, I saw a dark cloak covered most of the creature's body. Its fleshless arm was grasping the hilt of the sword gouged into me.

I assume you are the work of the Father? As if he could be any others.

That's obvious! Wow, you are quick! Nevertheless, I am going to stop you so why waste time on things so trivial? You must realize you have gone too far.

So the Father thought he had no choice other than creating something like you? Do you realize I can see His ugliness all over you? Abomination!

He shoved his blade deeper into me. Temper, temper. That is exactly what put you into this situation. You have no chance, so come now and calm yourself. The vile creature spoke to me as if he cared for me, even as he continued twisting the blade further into my gut. Hey, I'm fair. Come on, call them to me and I'll take your existence quickly.

Never. I will suffer the same fate as my brothers. I will not call to them and I will not give you what you want. I looked Death straight in his glowing eyes. You spoke to me of honor, but I have seen nothing honorable from you.

He drove the blade deeper still. This time I put my hand around the blade in my gut and I pulled it out with ease. Ha, your blade is nothing to me. Do you still believe that you can stop me and my army?

Actually, I had hoped it would not be so easy, he replied as he took a few steps away from me and as for you and your army, you are nothing compared to what I have in store for all of you!

The blinding white fog began to dissipate. As I looked beyond Death's shoulders, I could see the bodies of my fallen brother angels lying on the ground. As the air became even clearer, I could make out the faces of the dead. I said to Death, They all died in this war. They are the casualties from both sides.

As I told you, I am Death. They all belong to me.

I could not believe it. This is blasphemy! What have you done to the fallen? How dare you display them for your amusement! I shouted at Death.

My amusement you say? That is laughable. It is because of your actions that all of this became possible. You gave them to me, so I will do as I wish with them.

You are a monster! Do not shame them any longer. Lay them to rest.

Death stepped in front of me and then pointed behind me. Look at your army run. If you call them back I will do as you wish.

I will not call to them. However, if you lift your shroud completely they will stop and see what you have done. Then they will come to kill you, I replied.

Do you think pride will stop them? Once they see the death they have created they will run away even faster.

I decided to try to provoke Death, If you believe that then why not lift this haze? If you are as powerful as you say then face us all together.

Yes, I am that powerful and I will clear the air. But you will still fall by my sword, Death snarled at me

If you say so, I replied.

Death stood silent a moment before saying, You fool. Things are not as they seem. The same angels you destroyed will destroy your army. Is that not ironic? You were right about one thing though, I should not have played any tricks. I should have let your army walk right into mine. Everything would already be over. It would have been a great display of power and I would not have had to suffer talking to you.

Death looked off into the distance behind me.

I wondered what kind of power this thing had.

You are not even an angel, Death. What can you possibly do? You were never even in the Divine Light. To me you are nothing more than a thing, an abomination, simply a freak!

A freak? Death shouted at me. You dare to call me a freak?

I did not reply. However, I continued to watch his movements. I knew my opening would come. I would have to kill him with a blow from my sword at the perfect moment.

I asked you a question, Death said as he moved directly in front of me.

Looking for your death stroke? I kept my position without a reply. Fine, maybe I need some help to get you talking again.

What, can't do it on your own? Not just a freak, but weak too, I taunted.

I do not rely on my sword. My power is with the ones you killed, he said as he again called me a fool.

As he stepped back, I found my opening. Without hesitation, I drew my sword and lunged at Death. I drove my sword into his chest. I drove it so deep into him that I could only see my hand on the handle of the sword. This will end your so called power, I shouted.

He simply laughed, As I said my power relies on the ones you killed. As I held my sword in his chest, I drove him to the ground and watched him closely.

It is time, Death said as he lifted his arms. Come to me, come and defend me. The piles of bodies began to move behind Death. I watched as one by one the bodies of my fallen brothers began to stand from the pile.

How can this be? This cannot be happening. The dead should not walk. The Father and I discussed this when we were creating the universe. We agreed that once a life is extinguished the energy would recollect at the throne. This is how we were able to reuse the energy and create new life. This is all wrong! Why would the Father give Death the power to bring back the dead?

Impressive Death, you have an unlimited army at your command; giving you such power must have greatly weakened the Father, I said as I slowly removed my sword from Death.

Death just smiled and said, That is not your concern. Your time has come. You will die today and I will control you after your death. You shall be a slave to my every wish.

Within a few moments, all of the dead had risen and begun walking toward me. I could see anger and determination in their lifeless eyes. They have been given a great gift by me, he said. I have given them a chance to have their revenge on you. This is going to be great!

Death moved away from me but continued speaking. I feel privileged to be able to watch the Angels you killed destroy you. They will tear you limb from limb. Let's face it; this is what you deserve for your insolence to the Father.

They will not reach me before I have killed you, I said as I lunged toward Death. I swung my sword fast and hard. I struck between his head and shoulders. I took a step back as his head fell to the ground.

All of your powers are worth nothing any more. What can you possibly do with your head separated from your body, Death?

I looked up and saw his dead army still coming for me. I raised my sword and stood ready for their attack.

You fool! I heard. I looked down at Death's severed head. You cannot kill me. I am forever, made for one purpose, to destroy you! I made a promise to the Father and I will keep it by killing you! his head shouted.

I kicked Death's head high over his body. His body raised its arms and caught the head. I thrust my sword into Death's head while his body held it in his hands. Well Death if you came here to kill me I will not make it easy, I said as I pulled his head from his bodies hands.

I turned and faced the dead running toward me. I pointed Death's head on my sword toward his army. Stop or I will shatter Death's head into pieces. As I stood still with my sword extended before me, I saw them slow to a walk. I did not move at all. I needed to see their every move as they advanced.

Will one try to rush me and then the others will attack? On the other hand, maybe they will all try to attack at once. I stood my ground and watched as they walked around me until they circled me. It looks as if they will try to overpower me all together, I thought.

I raised my sword with my prize over my head.

If I destroy Death's head, they will fall back. When he is done they should all return to their resting places.

You must realize that if I destroy this head all of you will cease to exist. So move aside and let me pass with my army.

As I watched, they made an opening in front of me. The dead Angels moved to create an aisle with hundreds of their kind. I still did not move. I looked upon them for a few moments. Finally, I lowered my sword and started walking toward the opening. I made my way slowly keeping Death's impaled head in front of me. I used my peripheral vision to keep track of any sudden movements. Then I noticed a figure from the back step out and start walking toward me.

I stopped and slowly scanned the scene to see if any of the other dead had moved. All the others appeared to be standing in the same place as when I started to walk. I turned my attention back to the figure gradually approaching.

Who is this leader that the others answer to in addition to Death?

As the figure started to come into focus, I began to realize who it was. His wings were severed from his body. He was in general's armor.

Lasher, he was General Lasher! He was the first officer I killed at the start of this war. My army destroyed his within a matter of days. When he was captured and brought before me, he was crying about seeing too much bloodshed from his brothers. I tried to get him to fight for me. However, he pleaded for me to take his life. He babbled on about failing his brothers and the Father. Then he began to scream, There was nothing I could do, the Father gave me no other choices. He shouted that over and over. He was out of his mind and so I killed him quickly. Now he must be here for his revenge.

    2. LASHER

I walked closer to General Lasher, but he stopped moving toward me. He was still a good distance from me so I walked a few steps closer before stopping. Hello, Lasher. Are you looking for revenge upon me?

No, I have come to talk. You may relax your attack stance if you wish. I mean you no harm, Lasher said. But before we talk, I need to speak with Death.

I walked toward Lasher with my sword jutting forward at hip height and stopped just a few feet from him. I stood as still and as tall as I could.

I must show him I am ready to fight at any moment.

Thank you for your trust, he said. He filled the gap between us and then crouched down to come face to face with Death's head. Death, your power may have brought us back from the dead but you do not have the power to control us.

That is not what I was led to believe, Death replied. Oh, I see what you are doing. Lead him to trust you then have my army attack. You can go ahead and kill him yourself. Believe me he is not that strong. He is confused and weak and his army has no problem leaving him here to die. Attack him now! He is nothing and stands for nothing! Death shouted.

No, he stands here for the same reason we all stand here. We were proud, we all stood at the Father's throne and for centuries we were all in bliss. Understand Death, the angel who has your head on his sword stood beside the Father. The two of them created the universe together. All those wonderful planets and stars, beauty upon beauty; they created everything together. He is our brother and we stand here by his side.

Lasher pulled Death's head from my sword and dropped it to the ground. He then placed his foot atop of the head. Lasher looked me in the eyes and said, I believe in what you have done and that it is for the right reasons. We will help you. I do not know what the repercussions will be, but we are here to fight. I want to help you reach the Father's throne.

    Why?

We are brothers. All of the dead that stand around you have been cast aside. The Father used us! We fought your army without understanding why. We did whatever the Father commanded us to do and died without even knowing why.

You could have run, I said.

If we ran what would we have done? The Father would have punished us. His other followers would have hunted us down and killed us as we were commanded to do to your army. Therefore, we thought death would be our escape. But then the Father created this thing to harm us further. He stopped to look disdainfully at Death.

Lasher shook his head and continued. After we died we did not become part of his collective energy. We did not want to add to his power, so we kept our energy separate from the Father. We learned what your war was about and then we began to regret everything. We found out that you meant us no harm. Many of us looked into the past to learn more.

We began to realize how hard this has been for you. You and the Father are equals. The two of you created the universe together! When He cast you aside all those years ago, He showed that nothing matters to Him but Himself. His actions have put us here.

Lasher reached out and put his hand on my arm. We began to feel the same as you. Then the Father attacked our final existence when he created Death. We cannot forgive him for this! Let us fight with your army. Give us a chance to have peace within ourselves.

Lasher, I would be honored if you would join me, I said truthfully.

Lasher kicked Death's head to me and said Take it, bring it to the Father. Show him the truth. Let him know what he has done is wrong!

I bent over and picked up the head. Don't worry; he will see the error of what he has brought upon all of us.

Now, I need some room. My army awaits my command. We must show them that we trust each other. Lasher bowed, From this point forward we are in your command. Let your army be stronger than ever. We will never stop fighting for you.

All of the dead backed away. They formed their masses into straight lines in front of me. Once they were in perfect formation, they stopped and drove their swords into the ground directly in front of themselves. They kept their hands on the handles of their swords. They were ready to fight.

I turned around to face my army. Brothers, it is time. Our forces have become massive. My brothers, join together with me and your fallen brothers, I shouted.

My army walked toward me but I could see they looked confused and angry. They kept their distance and went into their attack formation.

Belial stepped to the front and shouted, I do not trust the dead. How can you? If they are what they say, then in death what do they have to lose? It's a trap from the Father to finish us all!

I have listened to their plight. Belial, do you remember Lasher? I shouted back.

Yes, he was a good friend to us before we chose sides in this battle. Then he fought us and used the Father's army to try to stop us. He killed many of our brothers in the Father's name, Belial replied.

My brothers, that is in the past. Take a closer look, brothers. Many of the dead that stand before you are the brothers who fought beside us. They died for us, but in death they began an existence of regret, I shouted.

I walked toward my army. They stood ready to attack. Relax your arms brothers. I went and stood in front of Belial. Belial, you are my General, my beloved brother, and my trusted friend. I know they will fight with us. From what Lasher has told me, I believe they are looking for an existence with freedom. This Death creature wanted to control them in the name of the Father. They cannot accept the Father has done this and they want revenge upon him.

They killed many of our brothers, Belial replied.

Did we not do the same, I asked. But look how all of our fallen brothers stand with Lasher. They want redemption and they will fight for us.

Belial walked past me and looked upon the dead army. He stood still for a bit. Then he walked toward the dead. As he got closer, the dead kept watching him closely. Lasher then stepped out from his brothers.

Belial walked to Lasher and stopped in front of him. He looked deeply into Lasher's eyes searching. Both of them stayed this way for a long time.

What is he doing? Why will he not trust my judgment? I am not here to fight with the dead!

Look at your General. He is afraid of them. He will cut Lasher's head off. Then what will you do? Just give up! Death's head said in my hand.

Keep silent Death, I replied. Then I watched as Belial dropped to one knee and bowed his head to Lasher.

All of you are weak, Death's head said as he laughed.

You are just upset because you have lost, Death!

I turned around to face my brothers. I shouted, The dead are here to join our army. They will fight with us!

Death laughed again and said, Don't believe them. Why would they fight with you? I still have complete control over the dead.

Then Death shouted, Fight them! Kill them! Hurry, do it before they kill all of you.

Without even looking at Death, I replied, Don't be fooled. This thing is desperate and will say anything.

I looked back to watch Lasher and Belial. I will need to keep a close eye on Belial. I watched as he stood from his kneeling position and held Lasher's hand.

Look, I do have control of the dead. Now I will have Lasher kill your favorite angel, Death said laughing. What are you going to do when Lasher cuts his head off?

I looked down at Death's head in my arm. I hear the confusion and fear in your voice, Death. He will not kill him, I said, smiling. I looked up and watched as Belial and Lasher embraced. I felt relieved.

Then Death spoke again. Sorry, I was wrong. Lasher is going to stab him! I completely ignored him this time.

Even in death, Lasher still has dominion over himself. When the Father and I decided what would happen at the end of one's life, we decided that the essence was to return to energy. The energy would know of its existence and then return to the throne to become part of creating new life. However, I did not realize it was going to be like this.

I looked down at Death's head in my hands.

Lasher and all the dead still have power. They still have a vessel in which to keep the energy. Could this be because of Death? The power he speaks of he definitely believes is real. However, when the Father and I created the balance we agreed it was a rule never to be changed. Did the Father try to bring us down by destroying all balances? Death is very real, his head is right here in my arm.

I turned to my army. Look, they are strong. They are looking for their redemption. I am honored they want to fight for us. Brothers, we have a glimpse of what death will be for us.

I held up Death's head and shouted, Ask yourselves, is true existence worth fighting for? This abomination tried to control them. What if he had succeeded? Death serves the Father and the Father wants to destroy us and our final existence.

But Death does not have control of them, one of the angels shouted.

That was not what he expected when he brought them back from the dead. He believed he would control them and be able to defeat us. My brothers, this is the Father's attempt to corrupt the Heavens. The Father has failed this time. So, what will be next?

I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I turned to see Belial standing beside me. Even though things are not what they seem, I do believe that they will help us to realize victory, he said.

Belial, the Father has become weak and we can now overcome anything. Now is the time!

Belial moved to the front of our new united army and shouted for all to hear, We will fight as one and together we will reach the Father's throne.

Belial, we need to discuss our plan of attack with Lasher, Belial replied, Yes, but first should you give Death's head to one of our other brothers?

No, I want Death to hear what he has set into motion. It is time for him to know he was also betrayed by the Father.

Belial nodded and said, So be it brother.

Together we walked toward Lasher. Lasher stood before the legion of dead brothers. They stood in perfect formation awaiting my command to attack. As I looked at their vast numbers, I realized my fight with the Father had gone on for so long.

So many had died not even knowing what they were fighting for. I cannot believe the disgrace the Father has brought down on his beloved children. What has the Father been doing all this time? He has caused so many to turn their backs on him. We have overcome the Father's efforts every step of the way. The Father has to know what is happening. What is his plan? Did he cause all of this to throw me off guard? Perhaps the Father is getting weak himself. Has he been giving too much of himself to fight this war? Is he gathering us together to stop us all at once?

The rule was that when the living died, they would be their own essence and then become part of the universe. If the Father is still bound by this rule then He must be trying to gain energy from the dead. But if the dead have changed the rules then maybe we will have the advantage, I said to Belial.

Lasher stepped away from his dead brothers and we gathered a short distance away from the army of angels. What do you have in mind? Lasher immediately asked.

Looking at the way the Father's deception has manifested itself I believe the dead can stop his surviving army. They should have no problem.

What do you mean? Lasher asked.

You and the dead are not what were intended. You have sustained unnatural power. That may have given you unnatural abilities and you would be unstoppable.

So you don't want our living brothers to fight yet? You want the dead to open a path to the Father's throne for you? Belial said. So as soon as you get a stronger army to do your bidding you throw your loyal followers to the side?

No Belial! I replied. Turning toward Lasher I said, There is a possibility the Father might be using all of you to gain strength.

Tell me what you are thinking. Tell me everything you know. Lasher said. You were by his side from the beginning. You know the Father best.

I think he wants us to fight as one and rush his army. If so, then he can kill us with one attack from the throne. If the Father was to kill us all at once, he could use all of the energy to replenish himself. At that point, taking back control would be easy for him. I paused to let the idea sink in.

I do not believe the Father would fail with Death. Death never had any control of the dead. He only had the power to bring them back. The Father would not have created him without a real purpose. When each of you died, you were out of the Father's reach. He would need a beacon of power to bring you back from your chosen exile. I could see the look of astonishment on their faces.

The Father wants to change everything we have created. It must have greatly upset the Father when all of you decided to stay back and not become part of the throne. He would not be as weak if you had all become part of the collective. I believe if we are all together and get too close to the Father, he could take all of our energy and change everything to his advantage. Everything we know would be gone.

He is trying to eliminate me. Everything we created together will be gone. He is doing this to destroy me! If he collects all of our energy, he could recreate the Heavens and the universe. Once he changes everything, there will be no reason for my existence. He will begin everything again, but this time without me! I shouted.

Wow that is what you have come up with? Death asked. You believe the Father to be weak? You are all fools and will perish for standing against the Father. The only reason I failed is that I made the mistake of bringing them all back at once. I could have controlled fewer numbers.

I smiled at Death as I said, With only a few of the dead you could never have defeated us.

Well if they are as strong as you think then a few would have been all that was needed. Death replied. I quickly lost my smile.

If that was true then why is he not controlling Lasher now while he stands here away from the others? Belial asked. Death is just saying all of this to try and gain some type of advantage.

Lasher looked at Death's head in my arm. Belial is right. Look at you. I can feel your evil.

Is it evil to do what you were created for? Death said. If the Father needs your energy to gain strength then you have failed your purpose, Lasher.

I no longer need the Father. For the first time I have the free will to do what I feel is necessary. I have created my own purpose Death, Lasher proclaimed.

Belial grabbed Lasher's arm. Forget him. We need to figure out a plan. We need to attack now!

Yes Belial. We can and all are willing.

If the Father is going to take our energy he will need as many as he can get at once. Your army should advance slowly, Lasher. Then they can bring down the Father's army of angels before he can take any of you, I said.

My army and I should just watch and wait? Belial asked.

I put my hand on Belial's arm. I believe it would be best. They are all dead. We do not know if they can die again. Not by any weapons anyways.

You think the Father can kill us? Lasher questioned.

Yes, I do. He will wait to get as many as he can. However, I think if the Father sees his few remaining angels being slaughtered he may get desperate. Then he will take whatever he can.

Lasher, do you hear that? He wants to sacrifice your dead brothers. Are you willing to cease to exist? You are dead, Lasher. What can possibly come after you die twice? Death asked.

Lasher just shrugged and said, It has to be better than this existence.

Why do you not just throw him away? Belial said to me.

"No, I am going to keep him. He is wrong and I want him by my side to see he is wrong. He already knows there is nothing
