Ashlyn Selvatico lives in Belize with two Capabaras named Nora and Winston.She started writing science fiction at the age of five. Her first efforts consisted mostly of unauthorized Doctor Who stories. Her favorite episodes were the ones that had Daleks in them. Daleks reminded her of her uncle Tony because they were short and said funny things. They came in many bright, fun colors, unlike uncle Tony, who was- as often as not- pale gray.In Ms. Selvatico's early stories, the Daleks always won.Later on, she discovered Ray Bradbury, Theodore Sturgeon, and Douglas Adams, and became partial to the more whimsical stories of Pierre Loys and Stanislaw Lem. For sheer mastery of the language, she prefers Lord Dunsany or Jack London.
