Reviews for Matthew for Everyone Part 2
2 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An easily approachable yet compelling contextual presentation of Jesus and the Gospel of Matthew.Wright masterfully comments upon the first 15 chapters of Matthew, seeking to make sense of both Jesus and the Gospel of Matthew in context while seeking to make applications to the 21st century condition of mankind. His translation of Matthew as presented throughout is quite "fresh" and makes good sense of the text, even if it is full of Anglicisms. He also defines the key terms that are mentioned consistently throughout the Gospel and within the commentary. A highly recommended commentary for coming to a better understanding of what the Gospel of Matthew is all about.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tom Wright brilliantly conveys serious theological themes by simple and vivid stories
