For someone new in public or professional speaking, it will take you from overcoming the fear of public speaking to honing your skills as a speaker. Skilled speakers will learn some new strategies and techniques that would help them become much better. This book has ready applicability to business and technical presentations as well as social and political speeches. As long as your goal is to become THE SPEAKER people want to listen to, there’s no better book I could have recommended.
This book is down to earth and shoots straight without fluff. I think Michael realized that most readers are scarce on time. Once you pick up the book you are locked in on your attention until you're done reading it.
I loved the part where Michael says we should not just follow our passion but instead to follow the market from the angle of our passion. What a depth. Only experienced speakers understand how vital it is to distinguish between passion and market.
Dr. Miki (as he is fondly called) will tell you that people don't hire speakers. They hire experts to solve their problems. He will show you how to position yourself as an expert who provides value and solves problem through your speaking skills.
Again, he taught that talent and oratorical skills are not enough to be successful. The real stuff is mastering how to persuade people to buy into you and your skills. Else you can be a good speaker and still be broke, sadly. If you don't want this to happen, read this book.
Michael with finesse that he is well known for guides you on how to prepare to give your first speech excellently the first time. He has provided tips including how to research and reflect on a given topic in such a way that you become affected by your message to the point that you become enthused about it in order to exude confidence and believability when you're on your feet.

Most people must overcome the fear of public speaking in order to start. So Michael will show you how to overcome the fear of public speaking in 5 minutes or even less. Just like you, he had his own fears, stage fright and nervous experiences. But he overcame them and in this book he connects you with his own story of how he overcame his fears and will practically show what it takes to overcome yours.
This book will show you the top three areas people will always gladly pay for and why you must relate your speaking niche to those areas so you can position yourself to start getting paid.
He has also successfully put the recommendations in this book to work. When h was an undergraduate, he made business proposals to banks and eventually went on to become a successful paid consultant, trainer and speaker that worked with a couple of small business organizations. He tells you that all fears can be mastered through intentional preparation. If all else does not help you and fear still harasses you, what can you do? Muster the courage to just do it and damn the consequences. You won't die doing public speaking... That’s what Dr. Miki would say in his often straight up, sarcastic and humorous manner.
