Chapter 1
The bathroom is beautiful with its dark red walls, black fixtures, red and black tiled floor. He thinks his bathroom is one of the most beautiful sights he has ever seen. Even though nothing compares to the beautiful blonde, pale-skinned, tattooed, busty woman soaking in the black porcelain claw-footed tub that is filled with a dark crimson colored liquid.
Sheri is patiently waiting for him to join her. She doesn't realize he is watching her; he is standing where she won't notice. Nick finally walks over, and gets into the tub with Sheri. Nick steps into the dark crimson liquid, and slowly sinks in facing her. Sheri is smiling while taking in the sight of him. She can't remember a time when she didn’t love him. Every time she looks at him she falls in love with him all over again. Nick is six foot two inches, built, and soft brown eyes she could get lost in. His skin is a sun-kissed caramel color with a few tattoos on his arms.
She holds out a wine glass for him as he slides all the way into the liquid up to his neck. Nick reaches for his glass as he sits up again. She has a glass of her own, they clink glasses as they make a toast; to yet another murder that will go unsolved. The glasses are filled with a dark bitterly sweet liquid that looks like red wine, but isn't. They sit soaking in the tub, facing each other as they talk about the events that happened at work.
Sheri takes a small sip from her glass while she looks lovingly at Nick and asks, How do you like Sara's blood sweetie?
It's sweeter than the others
, replies Nick.
"I like the way she tastes. Would you like another glass dear?"
She reaches over to where a bottle is sitting in a bucket of ice to pour Nick another glass.
No honey, I'm good for now.
Today was a good day, don't you think Nick?
Yes, I think we still need to be careful however, we don't want another scare like before.
I know, but it's been a couple months since that happened.
I still think we should watch how many people we pick each month Sheri, my love.
Your right Nick. Can we still grab an extra pint or two every now and then along with the two special donations a month?
I don't think anyone will notice the extra pints as long as we don't to get greedy.
We'll wait a day or two then we will take some extra from the fifteenth and twenty-fifth donor, okay?
If we have that many Sheri, remember people are starting to miss the ones we kill.
There is no record of them being there the day they disappear honey, everything will be fine.
They were sipping on Sara's blood while talking. Their glasses are now empty; Sheri fills their glasses half-way with the bitterly sweet liquid that once ran through Sara's veins. The bottle they have on ice holds two pints of her blood.
Do you think she will have anyone looking for her?
Sheri, we been watching her for a while. We picked someone who was a loner, we'll be fine. We just can't have too many mysteriously disappear too close together.
We have enough storage room for the bodies and blood but I see your point dear.
They take turns sinking into the blood, that's in the tub, up to their neck then slowly move back to a sitting position. When they both were done emerging into the blood they leaned toward each other for a kiss. After they share a very passionate kiss they lean back against the tub. They look at each other lovingly.
They both take a long drink from their glasses. Nick lets out a sigh before saying, I remember the first time we did this together, like it was only yesterday.
I know Nick, me too! When we first met I was worried you wouldn't accept this part of me.
I love you Sheri, and every part of you that makes you unique.
Chapter 2
Their thoughts go back to three years prior, when they first met on Facebook. Sheri was living in Columbus, Ohio, and Nick was living in Dallas, Texas. They got along real well, but they were keeping a secret from each other. They were worried that if the other found out the secret that would be the end of whatever it was that they had. Neither suspected that they had the same secret.
They been talking for eight months when Nick told her that he would be in Columbus, Ohio to do a show. Nick was starting out in the music business. He was an upcoming underground rapper. He eventually gave that up so he wasn't away from Sheri for long periods of time.
Sheri made sure she made it to the show, so she could finally meet the man that was so wonderful to her on Facebook. The true test was meeting face to face. She figured she could read him better that way, because he can't hide behind a computer screen.
The day of the show, Sheri is nervous and excited at the same time. She didn’t know that Nick was feeling the same way. She was sitting by the bar drinking Vodka and water. She didn't realize Nick was already there and watching her from across the room. He couldn't take his eyes off of her.
He moved over to where she was when he saw another guy trying to talk to her. She saw him walking over, smiles as she stands up and gives him a hug as soon as he was close. This made the other guy leave, which made Nick smile even more. During the hug they both realized they didn't want to be anywhere, but in each other’s arms.
Two months later Sheri moves to Dallas to be with Nick. They got a place together in Dallas. Nick asked her to marry him shortly after they moved in together. At this point, they still haven't told each other their secret. Nick feels he needs to tell her since they will be spending the rest of their lives together. Sheri was thinking that she would have to keep her secret from him. She thought if she told him, she would lose him. She didn't want to lose him.
One particular night Nick made dinner and had it ready for when she came home from work. She was working as a phlebotomist at a local blood bank. He made a romantic dinner of Chicken Cordon Blue, steamed broccoli, and cheesy rice. He had wine glasses on the table. He had a bath ready for her, when she came in the house. As she is taking a bath he finishes getting dinner ready. He serves them both and fills their wine glasses half-way. In her glass he pours red wine, in his glass he pours himself some blood he had stashed.
His secret will soon be told. When she joins him at the table she notices that the liquid in his glass was a darker red than hers. It was a color that was very familiar to her. She kept thinking it couldn't be what she thought it was. She gets a whiff of a faint familiar smell and she smiles. She sips her wine, secretly wishing she was drinking what is in his glass.
Nick is nervous. He is trying to figure out how to tell her he likes to drink blood. He was wondering if she would think he was a vampyre, which he isn't. He hopes once she finds out that he likes the taste of blood, she will accept this part of him. He can no longer imagine life without her. Sheri's curiosity got the best of her. She stops eating, and looks Nick in the eyes, before asking, Nick sweetie, what are you drinking? Don't tell me wine, because it's a darker color than the wine in my glass.
Nick sighs thinking, here we go. The moment of truth. He says, I'm drinking blood.
Sheri's face showed no reaction whatsoever. She slowly gets up from the table. Fear creeps across Nick's face when she does. Sadness can be seen in his eyes. He thinks she is going to leave. She surprises him when she walks over to him. She takes his glass, and puts it to her lips to take a drink.
When she lowers the glass from her lips, he has a strong urge to kiss right then. Instead, he smiles at her. She surprises him even more when she asks, Do you have anymore?
She prefers what he has over what is in her glass. They both know at that moment, they didn't have to keep anything from each other. No matter how strange they may think it is. They spent the rest of the night telling each other things they never thought they would tell anyone.
Other people have no clue about the secret. To keep up with their want of blood Sheri came up with the idea of inviting people over for dinner with the intention of getting some of their blood. They would get their guests drunk enough to either pass out or not be aware of what was going on.
One night after their secret was revealed they invited over a volunteer from the blood bank, which Sheri works at, for dinner. The intention was to get a pint of blood from her so they had fresh blood to sip on that night. They made a three cheese lasagna with garlic bread and a tossed salad for dinner. For dessert they made peach cobbler. They served white wine with dinner.
Sheri added a crushed up Klonopin to Paulette's drink before she arrived. A Klonopin is similar to the date rape
drug Rohypnol, also known as a roofie
. When Paulette arrives Sheri hands her a glass of wine. Paulette starts sipping on it while dinner is being finished up and put on the table. They are having a pleasant conversation during dinner. By the time the warm peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream was served Paulette had finished her second glass of wine laced with a roofie. She was having a hard time keeping her eyes open.
Nick moves Paulette over to the couch. Once she is on the couch, Paulette passes out. Sheri has a stash of needles and collection bags that she took from work for moments like this. No one noticed her taking them, she was careful about that. She gets what she needs to draw blood from Paulette. She gets a pint and tells Nick that she wants more. He just smiles and says, If that is what you want to do sweetie.
Sheri got a little carried away. She was going
