About this ebook

The deputy said to Jeannie, “If he was not your son, would you want an active heroin addict living with you?”

Oh, the power of addiction! The fix comes first! All the addict craves is the drug! The addiction will trample anyone blocking the way! The Parable of the Prodigal Son helped Jeannie make a crucial decision – a hard, tough – loving decision, which hopefully, at the appointed time, will bring about deliverance for her son! For any loved one grappling with the heroin addiction of a son, daughter - whatever the relationship, it is Jeannie's desire that you may find comfort, hope and some measure of peace within the contents of this e-book. It is Jeannie's desire that through The Parable of The Prodigal Son you will find that extra confirmation needed for you to make your tough-loving decision! This is the first in a trilogy of e-books - Prevailing Prayer and Addiction.

Jeannie Delahunt

Jeannie Delahunt, MPA. To begin, addiction seeks to deceive. Inner core foundations I stand upon are: my addict is not my nemesis! And, addiction cannot be controlled, neither by the addict, nor those who love that person. My first e-book was born out of travail for my addict son, my pain, and family pain. Though I am a retired alcohol and drug counselor, to see my own son become enslaved to this chemical shredded my heart. As a parent, and as a Christian parent, what to do? Everything I tried failed. I had to do someting - fast! But what? The beloved biblical tale of a rebellious son, demanding his inheritance from his father - this son's fall from riches to rags and rise to riches again became my most important confirmation, to follow through with a decision I knew I had to make. The prodigal's father may have been the first role-model for tough-loving someone. His decision, I believe, assisted in his son's return to him.My second e-book, feeling alone in crisis, has to be one of the absolute worst of emotions! I don't want anyone who is trying to cope with a son or daughter's, or grandson or granddaughter's addiction to feel alone. I hope, as you read through my e-book, you may find solidarity and comfort. On a brighter note:I love to research and write (various topics), love American History, World/Ancient History, Biblical History/Archeology, love gardening, swimming, barbecues and family/friend times. Love creatures and the beauty of creation in general.I am still working on the second book from, Tough-Loving My Heroin Addict. I hope to have it published by April, if not sooner. Please leave a review of my e-book as it will assist me with revisions. You may connect with me: power.prevailingprayer@gmail.com. I am found also on LinkedIn. Thank you for reading - may mighty Jehovah keep our addicts safe and deliver them from their bondage! Blessings, Jeannie

    Dedication

So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and David said, God hath broken mine enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim, (2 Samuel 5:20, American Standard Version).

All praise to mighty Jehovah! No power – no addictions can defeat Him!

I would also like to dedicate this writing to my co-princesses/warriors in prayer, Jan B., Marguerite F., Lauri F., Jean L., Hugette, P., Wayne & Hazel, D., and Sandy W., as well as to
