For my family, the answer to my why
Understanding Your Product
––––––––
The fundamental truth about the party rental business is that the product is, for those who hire you, fun. Parents and the families who call you are looking for you to bring joy to their homes. The experience is the product. You and your staff need to be on time or early, professionally dressed (suitable for the situation i.e. a nice logo collared shirt and jeans or nice shorts is fine for delivery guys), and friendly.
––––––––
If you take excellent care of people, your referral network can grow, and you can build a premium brand. Little details like a birthday card for the kid involved, or an extra flavor of snow cone syrup will add to the experience and value your clients receive inexpensively, while allowing you to command a premium price.
––––––––
Nordstrom’s is not an inexpensive store. Their products are expensive, even more expensive than other stores by a fair margin, but their client service and return policies are exceptional. The Ritz Carlton hosts very nice facilities, but honestly for the cost, they are not materially better than many less expensive hotels. The difference is in service, and the way they make their patrons feel.
––––––––
Ignore this fundamental truth, and none of these contents will matter. Embrace it, and you will succeed. The goal is to create Raving Fans at every opportunity. The clients you help will have friends and family hosting parties, and you want them to insist on you to handle them.
