Author's Note

It’s been a long time coming, but Bubblegum Princess: Pinkberry Patch is finally done.

Yes, you heard me right.

It’s done, finito, terminado.

It was written a little bit at a time over several months, and if I had to do it all again, I wouldn’t have done it this way. Although I put up chapters as I wrote them, quite a few errors resulted in the process that weren’t apparent until I edited the whole thing. In short, I screwed up, and I’m sorry for it. Thank goodness the best version is finally in your hands.

Had I not done it this way, would Pinkberry Patch exist? I think not. In fact, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting myself into when I wrote the first chapter. Originally, I thought I was going to write a 5,000-word short, similar to Aveline. The final tally ended up being three times that amount, and to my surprise, the first installment of an ongoing serial novel. Yikes!

How long will it run? How many more are planned? And when will the next one be released? I’ve no idea. I just go where the story tells me. I’m a scribe, if you will, and right now it seems like I’ve taken the first steps in a massive world. Aveline and Melissa will also cross paths, so I’m not finished with this series by any means.

Let me also apologize to those readers who thought they were getting a chapter book instead of a picture book back in 2012. I understand your disappointment, I really do. Finally you have your chapter book, and I apologize that it took me this long to deliver.

What follows is the complete first episode, which is somewhere around an hour of reading. It’s a replacement of sorts for the original picture book, although you get that, too. Pinkberry Patch is my gift to all of those loyal readers who waited patiently for me to get my act together, and didn’t blast me too badly in the reviews. Your kindness is noted.
