- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. All I can say is wow...the book grabbed me from the beginning and I could not put it down. Great fast-paced story and characters. Highly recommended read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This third book in the series is the first Jammer Davis mystery that I've read, and I'm happy to report that the transition into the story was effortless. No questions, no confusion. Davis is a good blend of logic and brute force, and both elements come into play in this story involving his young daughter. I learned quite a bit about different kinds of aircraft and investigating crash sites, and everything was perfectly geared toward readers who don't have a clue about these things: light, to the point, and very interesting. There were even touches of humor throughout the book, which were needed in such a serious story. Jammer Davis is a well-drawn character who will definitely make me come back to this series, especially since Passenger 19 also has an engrossing plot that really picks up speed once Davis has enough clues to begin piecing together what happened. After enjoying this book, I think I'll take a look at the other Jammer Davis mysteries. Good stuff!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Jammer Davis is an aircraft crash investigator. When a plane crashes in the jungles of Columbia, Jammer discovers that his daughter was on that plane. He is sent down to investigate and discovers that somehow his daughter managed to get off of the plane. Now, he has to find her and unravel the mystery that surrounds her survival. Many loose ends here. No doub of the "hero" come no through and getting the bad guys.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Passenger 19, A Jammer Davis Thriller by Ward Larsen is an action packed, fast moving thriller. Frank, aka Jammer, is an experienced investigator of airline crashes. He discovered his daughter was on a missing airplane in Columbia. I gave this book five stars & will look for more of Larsen's books to read."Green was staring at him, a retired two-star general who hadn't lost his regulation two-star expression." He & Jammer had worked together before. After learning of the missing aircraft, Jammer is understandably tense. "His back & shoulders felt knotted, like a shirt that had been twisted into a rope & left to dry in the sun."After his wife died four years before he had felt this way. "Now here he was again, at that barren cliff, the last tendrils of hope snapping one by one."I would like to thank Oceanview Publishing & NetGalley for a complimentary kindle copy. This did not change my opinion for this review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great page turner of a story, read it in 2 sittings. Held my interest all the way.
An exciting story of a plane crash in Bogota.
It emerges that it could have been a hijacking, but by who?
A wonderful murder mystery and an author I will read more of.
I was given a digital copy of this book by the publisher Ocean view Publications via Netgalley in return for an honest unbiased review. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ever read one of those books that grabs you from the first sentence? Well this one definitely did it for me. This is the third in the Jammer Davis stories and can be read as a stand alone. The premise? A plane crash in the middle of Columbia, Jammer's daughter was on that plane, as Jammer is an airline crash investigator, he is on the scene looking for his daughter and also what happened to the plane and why it crashed. His daughter is not among the victims and either is another girl that was a passenger.Enter the corrupt government and political pawns and you have the makings of a great novel. I do love a good suspense story and this book is definitely that. Jammer will stop at nothing, and I mean nothing to find out what happened to his daughter and where she is. Multiple attempts on his life make him wonder just what has he gotten himself into. Not only is this a page turner, you can definitely tell that the author knows his stuff, as a trained aircraft accident investigator himself, he incorporates what he knows into the story and it definitely works. I really enjoyed this fly by the seat of your pants novel and if you love a good thriller, you will like this one too!! I give it five stars, I loved it that much! Going to have hubby read this one also.I received this book for review for my honest thoughts.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A great thriller and adventure story, set mostly in Colombia. The action starts with the crash of a regional jet and the dispatch of Jammer Davis to investigate it on behalf of the US. It becomes personal for him because it turns out his daughter was a passenger on the plane. It's a detective story while Jammer investigates what actually happened to the airplane and is confronted by barriers from the local authorities. Good background about air crash investigations makes for interesting reading over and above the action story. Exciting finale. It's plot dominated, with some good local colour about Colombia. Recommended as light entertainment reading.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a well written, page turning thriller. I enjoyed the mystery and suspense but thought some of the action sequences were a little too long. It would make a great movie.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A little dramatic at the end for me as I was in it for the plane crash (I don’t remember when or why I picked this book up but I can only imagine it was after an Air Disasters binge) but it would make a fun action movie. Not really the plane crash book I was looking for, with all the government conspiracies, drug cartels, kidnapping, and illegitimate offspring, so I won’t go for another one but I still enjoyed reading this one and would give it a thumbs-up for the more action-oriented readers.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It’s become personal for aircraft accident inspector Frank “Jammer” Davis. A plane has gone down in Columbia . . . and his nineteen-year-old daughter was one of the passengers on board the ill-fated jet. Hovering between gut-wrenching despair and desperate hope, Jammer’s investigation unexpectedly reveals a sinister plot and the investigation gradually morphs into a daring rescue mission.Well-defined characters, a strong sense of place, and a riveting, fast-paced plot combine to make this a book readers will find hard to set aside until they’ve turned the final page.Highly recommended.
