Originally hailing from Mississippi, Keegan Kennedy is a writer based out of Memphis, TN. He's a self-described, ‘aging, former sex symbol’ with a kinky imagination. Keegan is fascinated with the natural power exchanges between dominant and submissive males, and his stories reflect that fascination. The fantasies that he shares are full of adventure, peril, bondage, and a dry wit. And he has a knack for uncovering love and romance in the darkest of places. With a tendency toward the melodramatic, he does more than arouse or excite the reader - he engages them.Author of Homecoming: International Number One in four countries: The United States, The United Kingdom, Germany and Canada. About the Author
Prologue: Mathias
Dawn was less than two hours away, but the city below still stirred with activity.
The time was mid-November, and the hexian solar holiday of Praxis—a celebration of virility and predominance. It was a time for gatherings, a time of reflection, and a time to celebrate the patriarchy. It was also a time to partake in the consumption of Euphoria—an erotic stimulant. Rolled like a cigarette, Euphoria was a strong combination of THC and opium—it made sex a mind-blowing, psychedelic experience. The smoke was lethal to non-elevated humans. It had been cultivated thousands of years ago during Mathias’ reign as a living god during the first Mesopotamian Empire. Aside from nicotine and caffeine, this drug was the only other one that hexians partook on a regular basis.
But most importantly to the hexians, the holiday concluded with an eight-hour ritualistic orgy. Only the unmated were allowed to participate in the Rite of Praxis. Prior to the Industrial Age in Europe, the scattered hexian covens would come together at this time of the year to introduce new sons, both alphas and omegas, as a way to encourage mating. But over the last hundred years during this Modern Era of planes, trains, and automobiles, the holiday was no longer a necessity, but the tradition continued.
As a result of human globalization, the hexian population had grown exponentially. At the time of this particular Praxis celebration, nearly ten thousand hexians, fifth-generation or higher, occupied the world. Within the human population, there were countless hordes of mortals with only traces of hexian blood, most with no idea of the magic flowing through their veins.
There were thousands of visitors at the coven from all over the globe, incubuses and succubi of noble birth as well as those with weaker bloodstrength. Also in attendance were hundreds of mortal males… elevated humans, bonded humans, claimed humans, and every demographic of male stock imaginable. They’d come to the opulent coven located at the Hexian Tower in downtown New Orleans.
Mathias, the oldest hexian on the planet, had been the Supreme Leader for thousands of years, long before mortal humans started keeping written records. Although he was much loved, Mathias was also disliked by many of his subjects. Many thought him out of touch, calling their leader decadent and distracted. Regardless of whether a hexian liked Mathias or not, at the close of the celebration, every single one of them was desperate to share his bed while the orgy went on downstairs. Whether the hexian was alpha (incubus) or omega (succubus), it was considered a great honor to submit your body to the Supreme Leader for his pleasure.
As was yearly tradition Mathias would choose his favorite. In an arcane, but holy ritual, Mathias would make a production of sending out a gold tray with a euphoria joint to his favorite on the very last night, just before the orgy. Then the favorite that Mathias had chosen would come to him. The ritualistic sexual submission to the Supreme Leader, the orgy going on below, and the paired couples copulating at the same time would cumulate in a massive ceremonial sexual release of essence, strengthening everyone’s auras for the upcoming New Year. Power transferred in this group collaboration wasn’t permanent, lasting only a few weeks.
It shocked no one when Mathias sent the ceremonial euphoria joint to Mabon because the two first-generation hexians had been sharing their beds off and on for over two millennia. Many were jealous of the closeness between the ancient incubus and the younger succubus. Despite his not being five-thousand yet, Mabon was the most powerful succubus in any realm or world. It wasn’t every day that an actual god fathered a child with a powerful mortal witch.
Lying on his back in Mathias’ bed, Mabon was exhilarated. The bliss of Mathias’ essence sang in his body along with the high from the euphoric opiate. Mathias lit the joint, took a hit, and then passed it to Mabon. Mabon inhaled, relishing the smoke in his lungs and the tingling in his body. After exhaling, Mabon handed the joint back to Mathias.
Mathias’ ethereal blue eyes regarded Mabon, a smile etching his full lips. I do believe you get more beautiful with each passing century.
Smiling, Mabon traced his fingers through the dark blond hair covering Mathias’ granite chest. You flatter me, Mathias. If I didn’t know your mind as I do, I would blush from your compliment.
Locking his arms around Mabon’s waist, Mathias pulled the omega into him.
Unlike some of the other immortals indigenous to this world, like ghouls
