About this ebook

Money. It's one of the biggest stressors in marriages. Many live paycheck-to-paycheck, struggling to both cover all the bills and save for retirement. Often husband and wife disagree over petty expenses, forgetting that they are on the same team. But money doesn't have to be a constant battle. Not only does the Bible give a lot of guidance, but God also provided examples of people getting it right. With a shift in focus and a little disciplined effort, you can gain control over your finances instead of your finances controlling you.

Carrie Daws

Over the years, God rewrote Carrie’s dreams from being a corporate accountant to being a writer. With a background writing online weekly devotions, a mentor at the Christian Writer’s Guild encouraged her to try fiction. The writing monster she now barely keeps contained was born. Since then, she’s completed several inspirational fiction books and encouraging nonfiction for military spouses and new believers. After almost ten years in the US Air Force, Carrie’s husband medically retired, and they settled in North Carolina. With their three children all figuring out what they want to do in life after school, Carrie stays busy keeping up with her family and friends, loving on women, and entering story worlds via books and movies as much as she can.

    INTRODUCTION

In 2014 Kathy Barnett and I coauthored The Warrior’s Bride: Biblical Strategies to Help the Military Spouse Thrive. The book went to press, and word began to spread about this wonderful new resource written by two military wives.

While we are very happy with the book, we realized shortly after its release that we forgot to mention a couple of topics near to the hearts of many military families. After a lot of prayer and some discussion, we decided that instead of taking another year to write a second book, we would simply write additional chapters and release them individually. This not only allows us to get the chapters to you more quickly, but it also gives you the option to pick and choose only those chapters that affect you directly.

This is the fourth of six eBook shorts, released every three months during 2015 and the first half of 2016. In the first eBook, we tackled potential problems with extended family, and in the second we helped prepare families for reintegration. The third book covered a PCS from beginning to end, and
