This book clearly defines what Therapy Dogs do and do not do. They are not Service dogs and have very different, yet important roles to play. Therapy dogs have been used since WWII but they have only recently become part of the mainstream and widely used. The illustrations are wonderful and they add so much to the story. They show the dogs participating in the activities they are trained for and make it natural to see them and the people they work with in the natural settings. A great book to use in schools to teach about the roles of animals in our lives, to teach about acceptance of those who may have a therapy dog and to teach about how smart animals are. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.
