About this ebook

As the bar owner, Gwen knows her fair share of shady individuals. Every night a group of ragtag men make their way into her bar hoping to enjoy a nice cold beer after a long day. Ed is one of these men. As a star football player, he has a colored past that often leaves him with a vacant look in his eyes. Even so, Gwen finds herself falling for him. There is just one problem. He is part of The Sentinels a football team known for stirring trouble in Gwen’s bar. She is eager for Ed to leave the group but he is resistant. She doesn’t know what The Sentinels is actually a clan of bear shifters. Ed refuses to tell her about his dual nature as a bear, fearing it would scare her away.  But what will happen when Ed is left with no other choice other than exposing himself? Will she stay and accept him or walk away forever?

It had more than a handful of regular patrons and was turning a decent profit year after year. Her usual clients were the armchair quarterbacks and rowdy could-have-beens that peppered most sports bars. She had quickly learned not to get involved in athletic debates and to keep her bar equipped with the best security that money could buy after that one fight after the playoffs two years ago.

On his cheek was a new cut, something that would add yet another scar to his body. She knew that this muscular individual had at one point been in the Navy. He was now retired and had somehow managed to join The Sentinels, a local football team. They were the only group of people who always managed to stir up trouble in her bar.

I’m alright. She said as she leaned forward, her hand lingering on
