About this ebook

Set in the 1890s, Secret Desires describes the sexual adventures of Phoebe Paxton, a promiscuous young lady from Australia. On completing her schooling, she obtains a position as private secretary to the wife of a rich banker in Sydney.
Phoebe has bigger ambitions than working as a private secretary, however. She is anxious to improve her social and financial position and she has the good fortune to meet an English lord who is visiting Sydney.
The English lord proposes marriage to Phoebe, and when he returns to England, he takes his bride with him. In England, Phoebe soon becomes bored with her husband's unimaginative lovemaking, and she seeks variety in a series of extramarital affairs.
These affairs include one with no less a personage than the Prince of Wales. When Phoebe's husband learns of the affair, he is not upset at all. In fact, he actively encourages the affair, as he believes that it is in his own best interest to have a wife who is on familiar terms with the future King of England.
Length of story is over 32,000 words.

My name is Jack Falworth and I am fascinated by erotica. Over the years, I have written dozens of erotic stories in my spare time for my own amusement, but it is only recently that I have decided to publish the products of my sex-crazed imagination.I do not aspire to be a 'literary author', and I have, in fact, little respect for so-called literary novels or literary prizes. I consider that the erotic impulse is the most basic of all human impulses, and that it is only works of erotica that fully acknowledge and explore the many diverse facets of this impulse. My first published novel was 'From Virgin to Porn Star', and I have since published several other erotic works. I prefer writing long stories with strong plot lines, and I am constantly seeking new ideas for my stories.I am currently at various stages of developing plots for a number of erotic novels, which I intend to release at regular intervals. Hopefully, these novels will be well received by lovers of erotica.

    CHAPTER ONE

    Young and Eager

Phoebe Paxton was not a scholarly girl, and she endured her days at Miss Gimble’s School for Young Ladies in a state of ill-disguised boredom. Her academic marks were poor, but this did not concern her, because she knew she was the prettiest girl in the school, and she believed that good looks were much more important than school learning.

Phoebe had just turned eighteen, a blue-eyed blonde who was eager to experience all that life had to offer. To be more precise, she wanted to meet boys, but so far her opportunities had been limited, and much to her disappointment, she could boast of no conquests.

She lived with her widowed mother in the Australian country town of Bathurst, located on the rich pastoral plains to the west of Sydney. Phoebe’s father had been the bank manager there many years ago, but he had been tragically killed during a bank robbery when Phoebe was quite young. After her father’s untimely death, the bank had provided her mother with a small pension, enough to enable Mrs Paxton to live modestly and raise her daughter without suffering undue financial hardship.

Phoebe was in her final year at Miss Gimble’s School, and her mother was anxious to find a suitable position for Phoebe when she graduated. She had therefore written a long letter to Cyril Wakefield, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Australasia in Sydney, the bank which had employed Phoebe’s father.

In her letter, Mrs Paxton politely reminded Mr Wakefield of her late husband’s services to the bank, and enquired whether he could offer Phoebe a position as a teller. With her letter, Mrs Paxton enclosed a reference extolling Phoebe's virtues written by the local Anglican minister, as well as a recent photograph of her daughter.

Three weeks of anxious waiting passed before Mrs Paxton received a reply to her letter. The reply was from Mrs Vera Wakefield, the wife of the bank’s chairman.

Mrs Wakefield wrote on behalf of her husband to explain that the bank did not employ young ladies as tellers, so Mr Wakefield was unfortunately unable to offer Phoebe a position. However, Mrs Wakefield herself had a requirement for a private secretary to look after her correspondence, and she was willing to offer this position to Phoebe on a six month trial basis, if Phoebe was interested. As Phoebe would not complete her schooling until the end of the year, Mrs Wakefield suggested that the young girl should come to Sydney early in the new year to take up her position.

Mrs Paxton immediately wrote back, accepting Mrs Wakefield’s offer and thanking her profusely for her kindness.

Phoebe was thrilled when she learnt that she was to become Mrs Wakefield’s private secretary, and live in the large home of one of the wealthiest families in Sydney. She could scarcely wait for the school year to finish, and she looked forward eagerly to the day when she would board the train from Bathurst. Phoebe was a young lady whose soul craved adventure and excitement, and she expected to find both in Sydney, the biggest and most illustrious city in the Australian Colonies.

Phoebe told her school friends of her good fortune and, of course, she also told Waldo Gimble, her favorite teacher. Waldo was Miss Gimble’s nephew and the only male teacher at the school. He was a handsome young man who had been educated in England, and held a Master of Arts degree from Oxford University.

Like all the other girls at the school, Phoebe imagined herself to be in love with Waldo. She had often tried to flirt with him, but he had always scrupulously avoided her advances.

On hearing Phoebe’s news, Waldo had congratulated her on her good fortune, and had made her promise to come around and say goodbye to him before she left Bathurst.

The school year drew to an end. Graduation day finally arrived, and Phoebe received her school certificate from Miss Gimble’s august hand, along with all the other Form Six students.

It had been arranged that Phoebe should travel to Sydney in the first week of February, so she had six weeks of leisure to enjoy until then. She spent the time preparing for her departure, as well as taking long walks around Bathurst.

She strolled by Miss Gimble’s school on several occasions, hoping to see Waldo. There was a house attached to the school which Waldo shared with his aunt, and Phoebe considered going up to the front door and asking to speak with Waldo, but she was afraid of Miss Gimble.

She spent almost a week, trying to summon up her courage, and then one afternoon when she was walking by the school, she saw Waldo standing in the front yard.

Hello, Phoebe, he called out, waving his hand.

Hello, Mr Gimble, she replied, stopping to talk with him.

Please call me Waldo, he said, smiling. You’re no longer one of my pupils, Phoebe. You don’t have to address me as Mr Gimble anymore.

Hello, Waldo, she said after a moment’s hesitation. She was so used to calling him Mr Gimble that it felt strange to call him by his first name.

There, that wasn’t so hard, was it?

    No, I guess not.

Would you like to come inside and have a glass of lemonade, Phoebe?

The young girl glanced towards the house. Where’s your aunt? she asked.

She’s gone to visit a friend in the next town. She won’t be back until late tonight.

Oh, said Phoebe, looking Waldo in the eyes. You mean there’s no-one here but you?

That’s right, Phoebe. Please come inside. We can have a long talk, just the two of us, without being disturbed. He placed his hand on her arm. You would like that, wouldn’t you, Phoebe?

Waldo’s voice was soft and persuasive. His eyes fell away from her face to the swelling bodice of her dress, and the young girl suddenly realized that Waldo's interest in her was more than that of a teacher for one of his former students.

Phoebe had often daydreamed about Waldo, but in the past he had always been so formal in his dealings with her. She was therefore delighted to discover that his attitude towards her had changed, and that he was now making no attempt to disguise the fact that he found her desirable.

Yes, I’d like that, replied Phoebe, fluttering her eyelashes.

Waldo took Phoebe’s arm, leading her up the flagstone path to the house beside the school. At the front door, he stood aside to allow her to go first. Once they were inside the house, he ushered her into the drawing room, waving his hand towards the sofa.

Please take a seat, he invited. I’ll fetch some refreshments.

She seated herself on the sofa while Waldo vanished through a doorway. In a few minutes, he returned with a tray on which were two glasses of lemonade and a plate of biscuits. He put the tray down on the small table in front of the sofa, and then seated himself beside Phoebe.

Drink up, he said, handing one of the glasses to the young girl. Their fingers touched briefly, and Phoebe’s heart beat more quickly.

She raised the glass to her lips, sipping the cool liquid, her eyes looking into Waldo's.

Phoebe, I think you are a very pretty girl, he remarked softly.

    Do you, Waldo?

I’ve always liked you, Phoebe, but while you were one of my pupils, I had to hide my feelings for you. It would not have been proper for a male teacher to show an interest in one of his female students, but now—

But now? What are you saying, Waldo?

But now you are no longer my student. You are a very pretty young lady who is no longer in my charge. No-one could object now if I were to kiss you, could they?

Waldo slid his arm around Phoebe’s waist, pulling her body against his own. He bent his head down towards hers, kissing her on the lips. Phoebe allowed him to kiss her for a few delightful seconds, and then pretended to resist.

Oh, Waldo! she exclaimed. You shouldn’t have! What would Miss Gimble say?

She’ll never know unless you tell her. You won’t tell her, will you, Phoebe?

    The young girl flashed
