Brief Biography of Jerome W. Albers
Chapter 1 Going to the Resort
Bonnie
Bonnie was sitting apprehensively looking out window awaiting the shuttle to take her to the airport for a well-deserved vacation. She was going through a checklist in her mind that she had packed everything she needed and decided to stop and not think about it. Time to start the vacation and if she didn’t have it, she could buy it.
She has been working hard and it is time to get away. She hoped that she would meet someone exciting, especially a male. She thought; I don’t care if he is old or young as long as he is nice and fun and we can have a good time together. I have given up on finding a man for a long-term relationship. I have wasted too many years at that. Now is the time to have fun on vacation and if nothing goes on after the vacation then that is all right because it is just a vacation romance. My marriage was bad and I don’t have any desire to get back into a bad relationship that again. I make enough to invest so I can have a nice retirement without a man, but if I happen to meet someone who I could have a great relationship with then that would be great. I just can’t make my plans depending on that. It seems as if all the good ones are taken.
The shuttle arrives and she goes out and the driver loads her luggage and checks that her fee is paid on the internet and then helps her into the van. She is wearing jeans, tennis shoes, blouse and sweater. It is 20 degrees in New York so she couldn’t just wear sandals and summer dress to the airport. She had a summer dress in her carry-on and would change as soon as she could. After picking her up the shuttle picks up two older couples which seem to want to stay to themselves and weren’t very social. The trip to the airport was uneventful like most of her trips to the airport.
After arriving at the airport, she thought this flying is still a mess and getting worst. One would think that after over 50 years they could come up with a better method of checking in passengers, doing security checks, and loading an airplane. It makes you wonder if mankind ever makes progress. She thought stop thinking about it. You are going on vacation so start to relax.
She takes her first class seat on the plane and a nice lady is sitting next to her. It is always a relief when there is someone nice and not smelly sitting next to her. She dozed during the flight and thought it is good that she keeps herself in good shape by using the health club. Although not skinny, she is trim enough to wear skimpy bikinis and that always attracted the men and boys.
She had changed in the airport before the flight into her summer dress and sandals. The flight was uneventful and restful. Of course, in first class the meals and drinks were great as well as a comfortable seat. She would arrive in time to be at the resort before lunch. She had done this before so she knew what to do to make it quickly through customs and immigration. The tropical warmth felt so great compared to New York. She was really going to enjoy these two weeks at an all-inclusive resort where she could put her wallet and credit cards in the safe and not have to get them out again until she left. What a great way to relax and get away from money.
She quickly found the resort reception place and with their usually politeness they checked her voucher and took her luggage and gave her a rum punch and told her that the shuttle would leave in about a half-hour. She sits down with her rum punch and just relaxes and watches the tourists hustle by. Since most were typical Americans, they hurried even on vacation.
Sue and Mary
It is cold in Chicago and Sue and her girlfriend Mary had booked a two-week vacation at an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean. They are at Sue’s Apartment waiting for a friend to pick them up and take them to the airport. They are dressed in shorts and light blouses with a bikini underneath. They want to be ready for the beach. It is cold so they are going to wear a coat to the airport and leave them with their friend to keep until they get back and they would have them when they get off the plane on returning home. They don’t want to take them with them. They might be a little cold but they were young and they hoped the airport would be warm. Their young ladies’ hormones would keep them warm.
Sue said, I can’t wait to get there and meet some men. I am tired of the boys here.
Mary responded, How do you know we will meet some men.
Sue said, There have always been plenty of men at the resorts I have gone to because they seem to have the money and aren’t afraid to travel and go to resorts. Oh, here is our friend. Let’s go
They are a hit with the men at the airport but the airport wasn’t cold but wasn’t that warm either so they have to put on the jeans they have in their carry on. Fortunate they wore their tennis shoes and not their flip-flops. They had selected the side of the airplane that only had two seats together in coach so they sit next to each other and no one else. Once on the plane they take off their jeans and put them in their carry on so they are back in shorts.
They arrived on time on the island in the Caribbean and went through the usual customs and immigration. Their passports were in order and they didn’t have to open their luggage. They found the resort booth shortly after exiting the customs area. The host greeted them and checked their vouchers. The host then gave them a run punch, asked them to have a seat, and said that the shuttle would be ready soon. They take a seat next to Bonnie who is waiting for the shuttle.
Bonnie, Hello. I see we are going to the same resort. I am Bonnie.
Sue, Hello. It appears so. I am Sue and this is my friend Mary.
They all shake hands and exchanges the usually cordialities.
Bonnie asks Sue, Where are you from?
Sue, We are from Chicago. Wow, you are dressed island style and look great. Where are you from?
Bonnie, I live in New Jersey and work in New York City. I see you ladies are ready to go for a swim.
Sue and Mary together, Yeah! We can’t wait.
Sue, We also can’t wait to meet some men. How about you?
Bonnie, I am sure you will have no problem doing that. You are both good looking and I men find you sexy. It would be nice if I also could meet a gentleman but even if I don’t I am going to have a relaxing fun time.
They continue to talk and get to know each other. They discuss their families and that they are all single and that Bonnie had been married before. They become fairly well acquainted and realize that they will be friends during their vacation. The vacation was starting out well. However, Bonnie though I had better check the men out fast and meet a few before these two good-looking young girls meet them.
Jim and His Friend Bob
Jim and Bob are roommates and live in Atlanta. They have an early flight to the Caribbean and got seats next to each other in the crowed plane. They bitched about the airport and flying but were glad to be going on vacation for two weeks. While waiting at the airport ate some breakfast but decided it was too early to have a beer. After arrival in the Caribbean, they clear customs and immigration and are looking for the resort booth to get the shuttle to the resort. They are in shorts and tennis shoes with baseball caps. Jim is wearing a tropical shirt and Bob is wearing a T-shirt with PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) on it. They are both in finance and have good jobs. They will also be staying two weeks at the same resort as Bonnie, Sue, and Mary.
Bob, Where is that booth for the resort?
Jim, If we weren’t men we would ask. Oh, there it is.
The girls have left on a shuttle to the resort so there is no one there when they get there. The host does the usual greeting, gives them a run punch, and tells them to relax and wait for the next shuttle. Jim asks how long it will be, the host says that it should be within 45 minutes, and there will a few more passengers arriving shortly, so they will have company on the trip to the resort. They sit down and drink their rum punches while watching girls walk by and making comments about them. They keep saying they hope they can met some girls like those they are seeing here at the resort.
The shuttle is final ready to leave, the shuttle driver loads their luggage, and they get on-board. Three couples also join them in the shuttle but sit in the back. Jim and Bob sit in the front near the driver.
Shuttle Driver, Have you been here before?
Jim, Yes, but not to this resort. I hope there are a lot of single chicks there.
Shuttle Driver, If you guys are looking for chicks I can set you up for a reasonable price.
Jim, We aren’t looking for that kind of chick.
Shuttle Driver, How about some ganja or mushrooms?
Jim, No. We aren’t into that either.
They look at the scenery as they drive to the resort and the driver tells the passengers a little about what they see. It was a little scary riding up front where they could see all the traffic and foot traffic that the driver avoided and went around. About now the guys wish they had a beer.
Jerry and Roger
Jerry arrives in a limo at the chartered airport terminal in Southern California. The driver unloads his baggage, which is a carry-on, a midsize piece of luggage, a bag with golf clubs, and a bag with scuba dive gear. He goes into the terminal and a young attractive flight attendant greets him. She shows the driver where to put the luggage. Jerry goes to the driver and gives him a big tip. The flight attendant gives him a drink of his choice, which is a good Scotch whiskey. Jerry is in his late fifties, is in very good physical condition, and works as an investment banker. He is dressed in Caribbean style with slacks, nice short sleeve shirt, light sandals and a Panamanian hat. He has good taste and can afford to dress well and travel well. He sits down and nurses his drink. He is single and knows he will meet up with a nice chick at the resort because he always does.
Roger arrives shortly after Jerry in a limo at the same-chartered airport terminal. The same flight attendant greets him. The driver unloads his baggage with is a carry-on, a large size piece of luggage, a bag with golf clubs, a bag with scuba dive gear and another big bag with some sort of sports equipment in it. He hands the driver a big tip and goes into the terminal where he is met by the flight attendant again and given a drink then she shows the driver where to put the luggage. Roger chooses to have a glass of iced tea. He figures he will drink on the flight and doesn’t drink much anymore. Roger is in his late sixties, is in very good physical condition, and looks as if he is in his early fifties. He owns several businesses and manages most of his own investments. He is dressed in Caribbean style with slacks, nice short sleeve shirt, expensive western boots and a Panamanian hat. He has excellent taste and can afford to accommodate them. He carries himself with a proud air but not snobbish air. He sits down near Jerry and nurses his drink.
Roger, Hello! I am Roger Albers. It appears we will be flying together and since it is a charter flight I assume we are going to the same island.
Jerry, It would appear so. I am going to Caribbean like you. I am Jerry Wallace. I assume you live in Southern California. I reside in Newport Beach.
Roger, Yes, my home is in Rancho Santa Fe. Yes, it appears we are going to the same island. Are you going to a resort or did you rent a vacation home there?
Jerry, "I could have rented a vacation home but then what fun would I have alone and I would have to cook or go out for dinner or
