About this ebook
Lights! Camera! Action!
Arthur Bean is ready to have the best year any eighth grader has ever had. The awesome zombie movie he's writing with BFF Robbie Zack is definitely going to be a blockbuster. He even has a girlfriend. Yes, that's right, a GIRLFRIEND! With everything lined up so nicely, he's sure his teachers will start to appreciate his true genius this year.
Except for the little problem of the movie camera Arthur and Robbie "borrowed" to film their upcoming blockbuster movie. And then Arthur's girlfriend gets jealous of his friendship with Kennedy. And there's the actual co-writing, producing, and directing of their film…Drama is definitely on the menu for this year. Arthur would just prefer it stay confined to his script.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Arthur Bean, aspiring writer and movie creator, is back again. This sequel in the Arthur Bean stories sees Arthur in love with a girl from summer camp yet still holding a torch for the fickle Kennedy. Arthur and his now best friend Robbie are on a mission to write the best Zombie action movie ever. Under the strict eye and tutorage of the school 's teaching staff, the boys take on what appears to be battle for creative license. Arthur's story is once again narrated through his written assignments and of course his diary, RJ. More of the same style and bravado from the first book in the series, I found this sequel to be lacking somewhat in originality. However, it does have its humour and touching moments. A recommended read for middle school students who may be going through these same relationship struggles.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is told via communications between Author Bean, the main character, and his friends and teachers. It is a different format than most kids are used to reading, but it is engaging and humorously written. I think this book would be a good way to engage hesitant readers in a longer, "bigger" book then they may normally read.
